New BKK Transit Hotels

Does anyone know of a good and relatively inexpensive hotel near BKK, besides the Novotel? My layover is only 10 hours, so I am too keen on heading to the city.

"Only" 10 hours? that's plenty of time to go into town. Unless you think you will need some sleep after your flight.

Personally I would just use Asiarooms.com or Agoda.com and search for hotels near the airport
http://www.asiarooms.com/en/search?s...1&countryId=67

Plug in whatever dates.... Looks like plenty of cheap options (less than US$30).

what is "good" for your ... what is "relatively inexpensive" for you?

The Vismaya is pretty new and got a couple of good reviews so far

All I ask for is decently clean room under $100. I would rather not travel into city so I can get an extra hour or so of sleep.

Thanks!

Have a look at Agoda. While their prices aren't great for hotels <$50 you'll get an idea of how many places you can choose from in the vicinity on the airport.

A bit expensive, but so close to the airport. Looks nice on the website, but you're just paying a lot for the convenience to the airport.

It's well under $100 a night though. I think the OP should give it a try and report back here on how it was.

Only 10 hours, here is a place you can use and save money. Just choose the most expensive option.

I have used this place many times:

Great Residence Hotel
http://greatresidencehotel.com/

It's 5-10 mins away, and if you click HOT DEALS on the website, you can book a room and round-trip transfers for less than $33 (Plan C or Plan D). The hotel is just fine, the bed is comfy, the AC works, the staff is pleasant, no issues whatsoever.

If you walk out of the hotel and turn left, 5 mins down the street are a few open-air bars and restaurants that are open til about 2am, many have a cool vibe, some have live music. I like Lullaby.
