Are things back to normal in BKK?

+1 would like to know too |
Are the fires still burning in Sacramento, I guess you get it all the time too, but whilst the floods did hurt a lot of the Thailand farmers and country folk, as a business person flying in and out each week, I never saw any water. I did go to the river a few times and I looked out of the planes' window, so I knew there was a flood "up north". Out past the old airport, if you know that part, this was badly hit, but some parts you had to wade through, whilst others were hardly touched. In central Bangkok, as a reminder of what could have been:), you can still see bundles of sand bags.

My local Family Mart had some real stocking issues during/immediately after the flooding, but it looks like that issue is in the past now.

Hey, now here's an idea ... :)
Thailand's capital should be moved to the north-east, says top scientist |

Thailand's capital should be moved to the north-east, says top scientist Other places I have been reading have been mentioning that it would be much easier to just build the right kinds of flood defenses for the city instead. It's an exciting idea if they designed it right and executed it well. But, seeing as This Is Thailand it's hard to imagine either of those things happening. Could be a chance to do some real urban planning. But the expense would just be too much. If Thailand was an oil/gas reservoir they could do some amazing things. |
