Where to shop mainly for electronics

Hi,

Please suggest some good place to shop in Bangkok apart from Platinum mall and Pantip plaza.

Main reason we are going to Bangkok is to do some shopping. My parents are more interested in doing shopping of clots and other household items, but I am more interested in doing purchase of some branded electronic items.:p I would be staying in Pratunam area of Bangkok.

Please suggest places from where I can get items such as TV, HD media palyers etc. are cheap rate. Anybody aware of any whole seller of electronic items in Bangkok?

You can try MBK too for electronics and lots of other stuff. They even have several good places to eat at.

Almost across the street from the Panthip Plaza is a "mini garment district" where you can buy clothing. This is one area where street vendors pick up their goods. Find the Soi leading up to the Baiyoke Tower Hotel. This is near to the Krung Thong Plaza. Lots of places to shop for clothing in that area.

It depends on what you are looking for in electronics. I don't find too many bargains for computers compared to what I can get in the US, especially on weekend sales. I do pick up some electronic doodads every now and then but I wouldn't put any real big money out without knowing the price you can get the same thing for in your own country.

Big C Mall, Lotus Tesco and Carrefour also have some electronics. Various malls have electronics for sale. In Pattaya, besides the malls, you also have Tukcom which is sort of like Panthip Plaza.

Good luck.

Other option

I would suggest Fortune Town

Much more reliable I found than Pantip, also more spreadout so less crowds.
The IT section I believe starts at the 4th floor.
Next to the Pharam 9 station of the MRT.
