Help Finding Cheap BKK/HKG Ticket

Im finding the BKK/HKG tickets for the days around the 20th to 24th of August are pricey.

There are some discount carriers, but then there's the baggage and other "stuff".

We were hoping to pay $250 OW, but CX and "other" have them at $500.

Any suggestions? We'll be in BKK and there might be a discount ticket there, but we'd rather have the tickets locked in before the trip.

Seems expensive $500 for a OW BKK/HKG.

Thanks for your help.

Check the TG website. OW is a bit over USD$400, but RT can be had for THB11,805, about USD$369. AK is currently priced at under USD$100 OW. All prices here include taxes, fees, etc.

Thanks for your help.

A couple of questions.

I can't find the One Way icon choice at the TV Air Bookings website.

And I don't know what "AK" means. "AK is currently priced at under USD$100 OW"

Can you help with this please?

Not exactly what you are after, but Emirates have cheap fares HKG-BKK.

AK = Air Asia (Malaysia)

The flight my also be operated by FD which is Thai Air Asia.

Thank you very much Mr. ak333, I'm a liking the AK prices.

There is a baggage charge, but at $15 dollars the OW fare is only $100 bucks.

Is this true? The other airlines are so very much more. Do "we" fly in AK, no problems with this carrier?

It just seems to go to be true.

HKG-BKK IS operated by FD, Thai Air Asia, NOT AK, which is Air Asia (Malaysia).

Search FT and you will find various experiences on FD. It is a decent airline. I flew it twice, and everything was fine. What "problem" are you referring to the carrier? Just keep in mind, you get what you pay for.

Air Asia is doing a promotion on HKG-BKK until May 16. From my experience, get the tickets immediately if the price is right. Cheap tickets will be gone in no time.

There are loads of options to fly to Bangkok from HKG.

Apart from CX and TG, you have Emirates, Kenya Airways, Indian Airlines, Gulf Air, Air Asia and Ethiopian Airlines.

They (Indian Airlines and Gulf Air) don't serve this sector. The ones that do serve are: Bangkok Airways, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, Emirates, Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways, Orient Thai Airlines, Pakistan International Airlines, Royal Jordanian, SriLankan Airlines, Thai AirAsia, Thai Airways International.

Also consider booking a return ticket but not using the HKG-BKK sector (usually return is cheaper than oneway).

Sorry, stupid me, I meant Air India. They used to fly Hong Kong to Bangkok. Has that changed?

Re Gulf, sorry, I was wrong. Seems they don't even fly to Hong Kong at all, even from Bahrain.

Since theme of topic does not seem to be centered on CX anymore, this thread will be moved to a more appropriate column.

Thanks

An ITAsoftware.com search shows prices just over US$200 round trip using:

Royal Jordanian
Sri Lankan Airlines
Kenya Airways
Ethiopian Airlines
Emirates

Most of these airlines have only one flight per day (or even 3-4 times per week) but if you are flexible with your flying times, you can save a lot of $$$.

I would definitely look at Air Asia with their very economical flights. HKG is a great hub to fly from. Unfortunately some of the 3rd tier Asia countries I need to fly don't have much competition and the time it would take to fly to BKK and onward the $500+USD ticket price is worth it for a direct flight.

I love them and I have flown on them short flights BKK-SGN and long haul to BALI. YEs they are a budget carrier but you can pay to book a seat $7.00 usd.You get to board first and there is always plenty of room in the blocked off rows becasue no one wants to pay extra for a reserved seat.
