Using ROP miles for BKK hotel

I'm using my Royal Orchid Plus (Thai Airways) miles to book a hotel in Bangkok, but I can't decide which one has the best amenities. I usually stay at the Watergate/Erawan area so I would prefer a hotel there, but I'm open to staying elsewhere that has good access to the Skytrain/ subway and a mall.

Anyway, I've narrowed down my options to the following:
Grand Centara at Central World (I heard the rooms are small?)
Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square
Dusit Thani (I heard this is a good hotel, but I'm not too sure about the location and accessibility)

Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi fuu99 and welcome to flyertalk. Flyertalk is a huge tapestry of all matters travel, airmiles, budget & luxury hotels and flights & more. Take time to scroll through the various options. There is I think a thread on Royal Orchid Thai Airways and there is a Thailand thread.

In reply to your question, The Dusit Thani is centrally located to the skytrain and metro. There are more luxurious hotels in Bangkok such as The oriental (MO), the peninsula, The Sukhothai and others. I can't help you with how these hotels relate to ROP miles though. Enjoy you search through flyertalk!

Welcome to Flyertalk, fuu99.
I believe that you will be better served by my moving this thread to the FT Thailand Forum. There, you will find many different hotel options & opinions
Good luck.

If you have plenty of miles, I recommend staying at the International Collection series (14k miles for 1 night) which means you can stay at the Sukhumvit Grande Sheraton, Weston Sukhumvit etc etc.

If you don't want to spend that much, then the Dusit Thani is a fine 'grand old lady' hotel. The Centara at Central World is not so handy to the BTS according to Mrs TK who stayed last month on an ROP hotel award.

Cheers, TK
