Award Booking LHR-BKK-DPS return June 2010

Dear Forum,

I've not long completed a MUC-BKK-FRA routing with Thai in F-Class and it was quite simply brilliant...MUC-BKK was pretty good all round with only 4 pax in F on the A346, but I was simply blown away as the only F pax on the 744 to FRA. Wicked.

So, it was with immense pleasure that I just booked a return reward booking with Thai in F for my friend and me for LHR-BKK-DPS. The only prob we had was the BKK-DPS sector as it only had Y class reward seats available (TG 431 on 13/06/10).

Can I ask if anyone knows if further C-class rewards seats might become available in the future or is our best bet a one-way payable upgrade on the day? If the latter is more likely, can we do that from LHR or will we have to wait until BKK? And is there ANY CHANCE that the “Powers that Be” would comp us for that leg if space available?

Also, could I also ask if there are any escort services (no pun intended ) for arriving and departing Thai F customers at LHR?

Thanks as always!
GingerLord.

Hi Gingerlord,

Don't know which FFP you use for awards (ROP, BD, UA,???). There is good chance that C awards will become available along the way and most FFP will allow you to get them to replace the Y segmetns (usually with a fee).
BUT, your trip is allmost a year away. So many schedule/flight changes can take place with TG (and other airlines) over the coming year that you have time to worry about C availability on BKK-DPS IMO.

The BKK-DPS sector is always busy up front, Gingerlord, so it will a matter of being persistent. ROP organised a escort for me in CDG, so I imagine they could do the same in LHR, but I agree so much with brunos, a lot happens in a year in the aviation business, regards bkkrop
