Thai C-Class on MD11 - HELP

Hi all,

I need to travel ZRH-ICN on a short notice tomorrow. All I got is a C-class ticket on Thai's MD11.

Never been on Thai before, but reading various comments I recon that the MD11 C-Class is probably gonna be terrible (except the service, of course). Anyone has an idea on:

- which seats are best
- what to do for 4 hours at BKK

I'm actually thinking already of changing my reservation for my return trip to MUC, just to get the 747.....

Thanks for your help!
Cheers

The Royal Executive Class on MD-11 is old with no PTV and only 42 inch seat pitch.

Try seat 11AB or 11JK which is the exit row. Plenty of legroom but the downside is there is no leg/footrest.

This information is a little depressing as i am travelling MEL-BKK today in a MD11.I'll let you know if it is a bad as it is reported .Luckily,I transfer to a LH 747 in BKK for the rest of the trip to FRA .

TG MD-11 Royal Executive Class

I flew this plane a couple of years ago BKK/FRA/BKK. It's not a whole lot different than Pan Am's Clipper Class, only the cabin crew will be infinitely nicer. Otherwise, it definitely will be a very "retro" experience.

try if you can get a seat pair alone for you. you can easily plug out the center armrest which gives you a better possibility to sleep ....

I sat in 12 K -not as roomy as the exit row in front and of course there are no leg rests in 11.Almost no window to look out BUT the upside of row 11 ,apart from the infinitely better legroom, is the fact that the galley and its noise is not that close, the front curtain is almost always closed.I'd go for the window exit seat as the aisle seat leg area does protrude into the passageway.

Hi all,

thanks for all the replies.
The flight the other day was pretty full - I was sitting in 15G (I think), the seats were the most uncomfortable C-Class seats I have ever experienced, Service was surprisingly bad, no PTV's but a bad view from the seat.

Defenately the last time I fly Thai in C-Class as long as they have the MD-11.... unfortunately I have to fly back on them again later this week.
