Best Credit Card for TG status/Points in Thailand
Hello, just landed in BKK and will be living/working here for the next couple of years and was wondering what the best credit card option was? Looking for the best way to earn points and fast track to gold status? Or the best credit card that gives lounge key or priority pass access?
Thanks
Thanks

Welcome to Thailand!
As a foreigner it will be difficult for you to get a local credit card until after at least six months. That is, unless your company has a corporate agreement, which was what I had to suffice with back when I first moved here. Bangkok Bank do offer cards to foreigners sooner than that though, but you would have to put a fixed amount in an account which then becomes your credit limit.
Feel free to PM me if you want further input

There are many credit cards available in Thailand and benefits change frequently or a card with different benefits is introduced by a provider. I suggest that you decide what your priorities are, what limit will be given based on salary, how useful it will be, what airlines you will use in order to maintain status if necessary after you completed your assignment in Thailand. Even with access to Thai and Star Alliance lounges which some posters give somewhat negative comments about, there is a world of difference between these lounges and PP.
Using many CC gives discounts for example for electrical items, but this is not the case for Amex and Citi (as it was).

as far as I know, with Amex you will need 20 flights OR 25k miles AND 1 Million THB spent with Thai Airways, but with Citibank you only need 1 million THB AND 20k miles OR 15 flights with Thai.
So as far as I see it, Citi Royal Orchid CC would be the better product to gain status faster.
please correct me, if I am wrong.
