yes TG will take over from WE on 15. October
I saw this announcement of TG yesterday:

Round-trip fares start at 15,425 Baht.* Reserve your seat now at www.thaiairways.com. With our full-service daily flights on the Airbus A320, starting October 15, 2023,
TG630 departs from Bangkok at 11:45 PM, arriving in Kaohsiung at 16:45 PM (local time) (from October 29, 2023 onwards; reschedule to 11.55-16.15).
TG631 departs from Kaohsiung at 17:15 AM, arriving in Bangkok at 19:55 AM (local time) (from October 29, 2023 onwards; reschedule to 17.1519.45).

TG will be assuming WE's responsibilities; including the obligation to transport you per the ticket; that's how mergers work.
Of course, this being Thailand, everything does not always work as smoothly or logically as it should.
It's more complicated than that. The ticket is binding on the carrier, regardless who issued it, but subject to additional restrictions due to the agency involvement. In this case, TG will be assuming WE's obligations (subject to caveat noted above).

Thai Smile ticket operated by TG to PNH
I booked a Thai Smile ticket as it was 100 cheaper than on THAI Airways for the same flights and assumed no *G benefits (I have *G with Singapore Airlines, not THAI).
Just checked in on the Thai Airways website and it said I had 50kgs of baggage (30kg on ticket, plus 20kgs as *G) and also that I am invited to the Royal Silk lounge at BKK. Can I just check if this is correct or if its a default message on the boarding pass that doesnt actually apply?
Thanks

Please be informed that WE system does not recognize your TG or *A status, it cannot even recognize TG status (don't ask me why). I have to show my TG Gold Card (via app) to get the first-row seat because they cannot tell whether I am gold on their screen. I used to think it was the specific agent incompetence, but I later found out the system limitation is true.
If this is TG operated flight, you will check in with TG, thus their system can recognize all *A Gold status and it is likely you will also get lounge access because your boarding pass will be TG printed one, not WE. Under standard procedures, unless a WE flight (and WE operated) is booked as part of the same ticket connecting from another *A carrier, the connecting airport (ie. BKK) does not give you lounge access.

It is important to clarify which is the operating carrier (TG or WE).

For ‘up front’ seating, this is not a strict benefit on WE or TG operated flights even for TG Golds, but check-in staff have sometimes exercised discretion to my favour. If on a cheap fare I have often been in the rear half of the aircraft despite my status.
Back in the 2000s, indeed being TG*G gave access to almost all of the seatmap irrespective of the fare class, but that is not my experience in recent years.

See above. WE flights (marketed by WE) easily recognises my TG*G status and I get the necessary benefits. These are clearly stated on WEs website. I have never has any problems this regard.

Just to clarify. WE agents can "manually update" TG Gold status on a boarding pass, what I meant in my earlier post was that it was not automatic (systematically) recognized. Once manually updated, it will show TG*G on a WE boarding pass and Gold benefits would be given (preferred seats, lounge, weight). I initially thought 2 yrs ago it was specific WE agent(s) who didn't know how to do it, but I was confirmed by various sources at the airline that the system was designed that way. It may have been more integrated now due to the upcoming merger with TG, but as of earlier this year, it was still not the case.
Even on my past few domestic flights I tried to input my SK*G (which sadly soon will become non-*G and instead some SkyTeam crap

This sounds very odd to me - yes, agents can manually update but not necessary if you input your FFP no. correctly on booking.
Even on my past few domestic flights I tried to input my SK*G (which sadly soon will become non-*G and instead some SkyTeam crap
), and every time my WE issued boarding pass indeed shows SK*G and my membership number. This is however a recent change in the past six months or so, in my experience.

Is there any chance (given the current integration process) that I get any extra benefits on this flight or at the airport?

unpredictable...depends at which date TG takes over and that is currently a step by step process
