Question Transit from SQ J to TG F, escort / buggy available?

Hi, I'm gonna take SIN-BKK-HND route early next year.
I've decided to take TG F for BKK-HND, but haven't decided for SIN-BKK.
I have time constraint, so I have to choose either TG at 8am or SQ at 9am.
Since SQ offers better seat, I think it's better to take SQ, but not sure whether buggy service to F lounge is available when arrived.
Any ideas?

Welcome to FT, buggy service is never guaranteed with TG..... & on that route I have sometimes had better seats than with SQ, A359 versus A330, it’s the luck of the draw.

Agree - and if booking SQ on the first leg, chances are even slimmer. I also would imagine that there is a dependency on whether it is on a single reservation, or separate.

Edit: Oh how rude of me not to welcome you as well, gradon. Hope you will stick around here on the TG forum

Thank you for warm welcome!
I know that there exists a few choices for that route.
But the flight I should take is before 10am, and only choices with award seat available are TG402 at 8:15 am and SQ972 at 9:45am.
Thai seems to put worst one in that flight.

Thanks for reply.
It would be in a single reservation.
I have no idea how buggy service works... would there be any rules?

Thanks for reply, and warm welcome
It would be in a single reservation.
I have no idea about their rule to offer buggy service.
But as you stated, I also think that making first leg as SQ makes it less possible...

Similar but not quite- I’m looking at a TG F to QR at BKK (would be separate tickets)- assuming a buggy is provided what’s the chances of them dropping me at the QR lounge rather than arrivals?

That would be at transit security, not the QR lounge I am afraid. But if they provide a buggy, going to transit security instead should not be an issue.
However, the QR lounge is very close once you exit transit security (if on the West side, that is).

I found the buggy ride a novelty the first couple of times, but after that preferred to just briskly walk to/from the gate. Especially if I had eaten a bit much in the F lounge...

I think they do it pretty consistently for arrivals on the farthest gates from immigration, but other than that it is pretty much hit or miss.
But as Thai-Kiwi said, it used to be a novelty, but everything gets old and sometimes a walk is preferred. Often too - especially if you have to wait for other pax going on the same buggy - it is faster to walk. I did that last time that was the case, to the shock horror of the TG representative who were organising things

I have had the buggy on TG J to TG F, but never on any other airlines arrival connecting to TG F departure.

Yes, the buggy rides can be very disorganised & if you give up & leg it, as I have also done , their list of pax is also blown.

Last year I was pleasantly surprised by buggy service on SQ J to TG F. I don't remember the arrival gate, but it was a decent ride to the lounge. It was also my first ever buggy ride, so the novelty factor was high!

Just a data point - if the airline is aware that you are booked to travel on TG F (e.g. thru checked bags or "linked" itineraries), you may get greeted on arrival by TG staff + the buggy ride & escort etc.

I was re-booked on QR due to a long flight delay at LHR a few weeks back, & when I got to BKK, I wasn't expecting anyone to meet me on arrival so I kinda took my time to disembark & I may have been the last one off the aircraft (chatting with the awesome cabin crew & IFM etc.) ...

The poor girl was standing there at the end of the jet-way and I felt terrible that she waited so long for me ... she told me that she was waiting & waiting & was so happy to finally see me when I waved to her as I was walking ...

The escort thru immigration was awesome, and I requested for a porter to help me with my bags & walk with me to the arrivals area to meet my transport (Grab car) to the city - the service is great if you have 1 too many bags like I did (tho' I do tend to travel to BKK pretty light)
