will I be checked through?

Flying IAH-NRT-BKK (ANA) connecting to Thai BKK-HKT (all one ticket), after a 10 hour overnight stay. Will I be checked all the way through in IAH or perhaps I will be able to check-in for the Thai sector in NRT? The only reason I ask is because I know they don't assign seats until 24 hours before during check-in, and don't want to have to go to the counter in BKK. Perhaps I can check-in on the app?

Also, how easy or common is it to get cash standby upgrades on the BKK-HKT sector?

THanks.

On the standby upgrade for the domestic sector, it depends on the load in biz class. The cost is either THB3,000 for V/W tickets and THB2000 for higher economy sub-classes.

You are likely to be auto-assigned an economy seat for the domestic sector, irrespective of whether you are are able to be checked through or not. If it is less than 24 hours before you fly BKk-HKT, and you have time at NRT, you may well be able to select a (different) seat.

Others can offer insight into whether you could be checked through to HKT from origin. I have never done such an international-domestic transfer with an overnight at the airport - I have always collected bags headed into the city before continuing.
