747 operating as two class
Hi folks,
Quick question....
I'm flying BKK-DPS on a 747. They sell the route as J/Y only although of course the aircraft has an F cabin as well.
I've booked a business class seat on the upper deck and hold no elite status with Star/TG.
The F cabin is blocked off but i've noticed the J cabin is filling up by looking at the seat map.
Is it worth keeping a look out to see if TG opens up the F seats or do they tend to only release these seats to TG elites?
Many thanks.

Thai opened up F cabin when I travelled to Sapporo earlier this year. F cabin was full with my wife and myself given seats in F, J was also full although 2 seats were for the crew.
There is more than one thread which will give you answers to your question and based on these and my experience as P and G, I would doubt if you have much chance to sit in the F cabin. Others may have a different opinion

I often fly the BKK-BOM flight, which is a 747 sold as two-class.
Once asked at check-in for a F class seat, was told it's full.
Another time, asked at check-in and was immediately allocated F class window seat at check-in.
Last week, asked at check-in, told it's full (asked if it's occupied or blocked, and told in a very snappy and surly manner "IT'S FULL!"), but "upgraded" at gate to 2E (which despite being a lone seat in the middle of the cabin, is surprisingly private.
YMMV, but as everything else with THAI, it's consistently inconsistent.
I'm SQ*G, if that helps.

Please note that from 22 July TG will start selling access to the F seats when the 744 is used in 2 class service.
You can read all about it here: https://www.thaiairways.com/en_TH/of...ed_seats.page?
