AOT denies allegations of selling premium lane cards to non-entitled passengers
BANGKOK, 2 May 2019 (NNT) - After a widespread rumor citing corruption with the distribution of Premium Lane cards at Suvarnabhumi Airport allegedly sold to regular passengers via tour operators or nominees, Airports of Thailand has denied any involvement in such a scheme, confirming it only provides special security screening services to eligible passengers.

Terrible people to be spreading such wicked nonsense. What next: allegations of widespread corruption in the construction phase, requiring tens of millions for the remediation of sub-standard concrete; cronyism and nepotism in the tendering process for the duty free concessions ? |
Years back I heard about such fast track vouchers for sale and out of curiosity I searched high and low see if I could get a hand on some to try and see if it is for real. However, all the sellers I had come across were bogus and more like a scam.
Fast track voucher for sale might be true years ago, but might just be some inside staff steal a bunch out (the one I saw being sold online was the whole book of voucher), since back then the vouchers were hardly changed and some real ones weren't even printed with airline stamp and departure date so it could easily be reused too. Doubt so now though. |
I used fast track card 2 weeks ago entering Thailand on SQ biz. The card is still just a cardboard printed thing... https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...c9000bd36.jpeg |
I remember the fast track card to be the brown version with Premium Lane on it for years, they have changed to a few new different versions within these last few years? May be that's the effort of invalidating those fast track cards that had been leaked out on street, just my guess.
Digging deeper into the news, maybe this allegation holds some truths and might link to the Pol Lt Gen who has been mysteriously transferred from his former position of immigration police commissioner to the civil service. Either way, life goes on and it's business as usual  |
I think the brown version was used up until recently, but I’m not sure when exactly they were phased out.
