Gold card guaranteed availability +72hrs?
Anyone tried to use this benefit?
I've just tried to make a booking with the local office from SIN to BKK but was told that it is only available if there is space on the wait list. As the wait list is closed there's nothing they can do!
Is this correct? Anyone with any experience with this?

In economy I assume? I don’t think the benefit applies to business/first.
Indeed, very heavily sold, see subsequent post.

But regardless, isn't the fact I'm looking to book more than 72hrs+ the point? there's no small print about waitlist from what I could see on the ROP page...

Edit - my bad, there is indeed small print about waitlist needing to be open. Not really an amazing benefit after all I guess, seems like I'd need to be Plat to get a confirmed seat.

I know it adds to the hassle, but how about MH via KUL? This one is available in booking class Y (3 seats left), albeit pretty pricey as full fare.
19:30 Changi (SIN)
23:10 Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK)
Total duration 04h40m, 1 stop
Malaysia Airlines (MH616)
Malaysia Airlines (MH796)

Tried, took ages to get through and same story. It's pretty weird, I was looking at SQ flights y'day afternoon and they were reasonably priced. I got dragged into a meeting and 90 mins later when I tried to book everything was sold out. Maybe some sort of mass booking; it's an early voting weekend so perhaps lots of Thais made a last minute call to head home?!

...or possibly a rush for St Patrick’s Day weekend in Bangkok by many expats?
I suppose you also consideed SQ/MI flights to HKT with a separate ticket to BKK?
