THAI cancellations and disruptions
We might need to start a dedicated thread as THAI seems to be experiencing more network cancellations.
For today (02 Nov 2018), on the THAI webpage: TG920 on 2 November 2018 Bangkok to Frankfurt has been re-scheduled to TG9209 on 3 November 2018. Departing Bangkok at 08.00 hrs Arriving Paris at 14:15 hrs (local time) For more information or queries please contact THAI Contact Center at +66(0)2-356-1111. {edited to add: the Thai language version correctly states destination as Frankfurt] A quick look at FR24 suggests TG920 tomorrow 03 Nov is also cancelled. But a quick dummy booking shows that the replacement is actually TG9209 is flying BKK-FRA 0800-1415 (and not CDG!!!) I could not find a flight status page on THAI's Thailand website..... 04 Nov 2018 Bangkok (BKK) Frankfurt (FRA) 380 - 11:40 PM - 5:55 AM Scheduled 03 Nov 2018 Bangkok (BKK) Frankfurt (FRA) 380 - 11:40 PM - 5:55 AM Canceled 02 Nov 2018 Bangkok (BKK) Frankfurt (FRA) 380 - 11:40 PM - 5:55 AM Canceled 01 Nov 2018 Bangkok (BKK) Frankfurt (FRA) A388 (HS-TUB) - 11:40 PM 12:22 AM 5:55 AM Estimated 5:42 AM |
the same old problem with the A380 again; since a couple of days TG930/931 is back from 777 to A380
Now they have together with FRA and LHR 3 flights with A380 leaving BKK midnight to Europe with a turnaround of around 30 Hours and for this you need 6 aircrafts, but HS-TUD is currently not flying so they have to postpone one flight to the other morning until an aircraft is back from Europe...and usually It's always FRA which get affected last year they avoided this problem by switching the A380 to LHR to the day flight from BKK |
by the way
on 29. October TG930 to Paris was affected and started instead of midnight the other morning on 30. Oct and 1. Nov TG910 to London: the A380 was replaced by a 77w 3. and 4. Nov as above (TG920 delayed to the morning) let's see what happens after 5. Nov I am quite interested as I have a flight on the A380 later this month and a connecting flight not on the same ticket of course... |
update: HS-TUD is since yesterday back in the air
routes with A380 seem to be back to normal |
update: today 13.11. an unplanned Aircraft swap from A380 to B777 on TG930/931 to and from Paris...bad for the F passengers!

TG910/TG911 18DEC to 30MAR every Tuesday and Thursday A380 replaced by B777 My return flight TG910 F with seat 1A booked 10 months ago now gone. Offered the following day but only 01F/02F/03EF available. My last flight was TG911 01NOV F seat 01A also changed to B777. This was booked business with a PUP and I am yet to have a 1 way PUP reinstated. Thai Air say they are "investigating". Is it just me or is this airline becoming a shambles. I know they have problems with the A380 but where is it going Tuesday and Thursday? One has to wonder whether it is a commercial decision or made to suit non-paying TIPs. |

I guess it is more an operational issue with their 3 parallel flights to Europe (LHR, CDG, FRA) with the A380 leaving around midnight and returning 30 hours later with just 6 aircrafts |
Yes, you are both correct. I should not have made that comment.

update: as one of the A380 with the number HS-TUE left late and also returned with a 4 hours delay from Tokyo, TG930 left at 0458 with close to 5 hours delay and is expected to arrive 4 hours late this morning in Paris

Thai are advising of a number of changes from A380 to 777-300 on the LHR route:
Thai Airways would like to advise that due to essential aircraft maintenance, our schedule for flights TG910/911 Bangkok-London Bangkok are affected by an aircraft change on certain days, between 15th December 2018 and 30th March 2019. |

Rebooking to other dates and refunding (surprisingly) being allowed. Actually for J and Y not a big difference, just no F on the 77w! |
BinSabai - I think this was exactly Sam Bee's point - J/Y are no big difference between aircraft types, so it might be surprising to allow a (free?) refund just because a change from 380 to 77W for J/Y passengers.
And of course for F pax a refund option would be expected. |
All 6 of TG's A380s airborne

All 6 of THAI's A380 near each other over India - good to see.
