But the Premium Lane between both immigration halls is ok for Y pax over 70, also for monks, pregnants and infants.

In my experience (I've used both) the "over 70s" lane in the main halls is faster than the Premium lane. The departure one (near the SQ check-in counters) is much, much faster than the Premium departure lanes

I usually fly J, only recall 1 Y arrival where I used a main hall fast lane as 70+ and indeed was the only pax.
Never had any security/immigration delays in Premium lane.
April will be flying Y with wife and daughter, should I look out for that special departure fast lane near SQ check in (we are flying TG)
Returning I understand Thai passport holders have auto gates? Thai pax don't use Premium lane?
Thus I would be better off using one of the main halls returning with family and myself using 70+ fast lane?

I don''t recall seeing many Thai using the inwards Premium Lane, presumably because self-service gates are much quicker. If I'm flying Y on TG I always use the 70+ departures lane and I think you might all be eligible for that lane as you're traveling as a group but TiT so who knows

Fast Track Arrivals TG J

Hi, I have read some other post but I am still confused regarding fast track arrivals.
Could someone tell me Is there a fast track for Thai Airways passengers arriving in BKK separate to the Premium Lane?
If so for TG, or if not (Premium Lane), could you explain where the fast track is exactly - premium lane or otherwise.
Is there recommended lane to go to if there is more than one?

Thank you and apologies for my confusion.

Welcome, and congrats on your first FT posting!

I have not been through BKK post-pandemic (will do in a month), but there used to be a THAI fast track arrival in each of the main arrival areas.

These were located at the extreme left/right and guided you though a tensa barrier channel. I posted a map of the the setup along with picture years ago and some descriptions (most likely completely out of date):
  • THAI J, Diplomatic, APEC fast track arrival: Eastern Arrivals Hall opposite gate D4, far left side
  • Biz pax with brown priority pass holders from some airlines: between East/West Arrivals halls opposite gate D5
  • Diplomatic, APEC fast track arrival: Western Arrivals Hall, opposite gate D6, far right side (iirc)

The TG fast track has been turned into a generic AOT fast track, where all you need to do is show your J boarding pass. There is one in the middle block of immigration as before, but also one where the old TG fast track was (to the right of the first block of immigration desks if coming from C gates). Depending on whether it has changed in the past weeks, you have to jump over a few tensa barriers from the Thai passport queues to get to it..

I went through immigration at the checkpoint closest to the E/F/G gates, and there was a generic fast track lane on the left side, where a J boarding pass was sufficient for entry. It seems like the same is true at the other two checkpoints.

Is it worth paying for the meet, greet, and accompany type service to take you through the process, if flying J?

I would say no - it is very straight-forward as it is

Be forewarned that the "fast track" lane can move or disappear. What you are told in this thread may not be true on arrival.

Lol, two arrivals back, I followed one of the blue-coated BFS escorts (she was guiding another pax) and she took us to the wrong place because they had moved fast track (again). We had to turn around and backtrack past the Thai passport holders line.

Pre-Covid there used to be a TG/Star Alliance Gold fast track lane (useful if landing in Y as I am in November), has anyone seen if this is back?

I seem to recall reading there is no longer fast track access for economy passengers at BKK on any basis, not even for sale.

You recall correctly
(well, that is except for monks, elderly, pregnant women and the other 76 exemptions eligible for fast track )
