Here’s another retired 747, HS-UTB, in Thailand:

so there is even a domestic competition for field airplanes!
i would certainly prefer a TG 747 but my garden just lacks 2-3 meters size for that

Thanks @flyerby - so there are (so far) 3x 747 identified as resting in the Thai countryside. Who would have thought.....!

Maybe I will take a road trip to see them all, or maybe not.

I have been to those ones! But about two years ago. They were already in bad shape back then, no idea what they’d be like now. You have to pay for entry, i think it was 100 per person, then they assigned a ‘guide’, a little boy who must have been about 10, he also asked for 100 to show us around

it was a fun few hours.

I’d say this thread has gone a long way since it’s inception

I flew the Jumbo last week into SYD and the Purser told me that the 747 is not planned to be retired for another two years. Still time to get another F trip in yet!

you are a very loyal customer to believe the purser's wishful thinking!

I well recall the senior TG flight attendant who told me that Suvarnabhumi Airport "will never open"

Friendly topic reminder

Hello members, we've had quite a few posts take this thread way off the topic of whether TG will be giving up B747 service.
Let's please return to the topic and not mix it up with other members in a personal way. Thanks, Ocn Vw 1K, Senior Moderator.
