Exactly - I'm looking at flights in November and the Thai site is showing 747s operating every flight

THAI in Toulouse to discuss details of new order

Thai Airways International (THAI) is very close to announcing a new Airbus aircraft order. Representatives of THAI’s top management will be meeting with Airbus executives in Toulouse today to discuss the final details of a wide body order. THAI was due to order more wide bodies last December, but the board did not approve the proposal because of the airline’s dire financial position. “We are still working on the final list for 17, 18, 19 or 20 mostly wide body aircraft from Airbus or Boeing to replace the B747-400, B777-200 and B737-400 fleets. We must simplify the fleet,” THAI VP for commercial strategy and alliances, Krittaphon Chantalitanon, told Orient Aviation last month. He said the board would make a decision by “the middle of the year” and “no later than the third quarter”. THAI operates eleven aircraft types: 15 A330-300s, 12 A350-900s, six A380s, 32 B777s (-200s, -200ERs, -300s and -300ERs), 10 B747-400s, eight B787s (six -8s, two -9s) and one B737-400. I haven't read a single post in this thread, but I'm amazed that such a mundane and trivial topic has 100+ responses.

It is not necessarily that mundane a topic. If, as it was rumoured for a while, the 747 was retired from the Sydney route, all the people with (award) bookings in F would be downgraded to C. The thread has long since weered a bit wide from that specific topic. But at least it seems for now that the 747 remains on the Sydney route....

Your post has generated for now about 4% of the traffic in this thread and counting so you understand the idea that some of this thread is filled with off topic posts.
On to the topic, what’s your take on the matter of this thread?
