Current contingency operations are as follow
1. An A380 is taken from BKK NRT TG676/677. TG676/677 will be operated by 77W instead
2. TG910/911 will be operated by 77W
3. TG916/917 will be operated by A380 (using aircraft freed up from NRT route)
4. FRA CDG and KIX remains with A380 with no effects
Impact:
- NRT will be heavily affected. All F pax must be downgraded with compensation since I believe no other airlines offer F (see below). Some C and Y pax must also be rebooked but there are plenty of NRT flights to be put on
- LHR operations will retain overall capacity. TG910/911 pax with connecting flight or cannot be delayed can still fly on 910/911 or rebooked into TG916/917 temporary A380 service
For F pax that must be downgraded....
- Retain F lounge access
- Retain F baggage/boarding priority
- Retain F mileage accrual
- Refund fare difference
- Additional compensation for inconvenience

thanks spk, interesting!
what is your source?
Today's TG676 (to NRT) was a A380 and today's TG 916 (to LHR) remained a 77W
and CDG was heavily affected with delays this week
has the situation already normalized?

THAI switches 2 planes
Thai Airways International Plc (THAI) has temporarily substituted two of its Airbus A380 aircraft for Boeing 777-300ERs for two daily routes, acting president Usanee Sangsingkeo says.
Ms Usanee said the two A380s in question are currently in need of replacement Rolls-Royce Trent 900 turbofan engines, but the supplier has not delivered them in time

Today TG916 is operated by A380 and also tomorrow.
If they get one additional A380 back flying on March 10th, then it means that the contingency planned is used for only 2 days.
Before that, they must have rebooked Royal First pax on TG910 via FRA or CDG or even transferred to other carriers.
I like the new contingency plan better than the current one, which they simply delay a flight (TG910/920/930) from around midnight to morning departure to wait for inbound aircraft from Europe which arrives early morning. This create huge inconvenience because it will cause many pax to miss connections. With the new set up, they basically maintain all schedules and cause inconvenience to much fewer passengers that must be bumped due to capacity reduction. Yes, NRT F pax would be unhappy but I think they would be less pissed off than pax on Europe-bound flight which have much longer flight time.

On THAI website TG910 is 77W to 24 March and does not fly 25 and 26 March.
Normality seems to return 27 March.
I am booked TG910 13 March in C and know C was nearly full so 10+ pax in C will get bumped off.

probably also less costly for TG. If returns from CDG and FRA get delayed as well, dozens or even hundreds of compensation claims have to be handled and paid
