No More F to HKG?

Just got a notice from UA that my F award BKK to HKG, TG606, has been changed to biz. Expertflyer shows 747 changing to 773. This is April 2018. I didn't search later months to see if this change is permanent but March 24 is the last date I can find with a 747 still on this route. I did check other April dates and it's a mix of B773 and A330 aircraft.

Bangkok – Hong Kong eff 25MAR18 TG600/601 777-300ER replaces previously filed 747-400

https://www.routesonline.com/news/38...as-of-25jan18/

This does talk about TG606/607 specifically but then it doesn’t also talk about TG622/623 (BKK-KIX) which changed from B747 to A380 and therefore I think the report is missing some changes that occurred today.

there were always two flights per day to HKG with F, TG600 in the morning and TG606 in the later afternoon. So if one gets switched, the other remains. Check it out!

This happened to me last night too. I'm on TG600 in April and couldn't understand why the email receipt read that it's been switched to a 747-200 yet I was downgraded to Business. I'm okay with a 77W substitution for a 2h:45m flight.

They are both swapped to no F aircraft (773) effective March 25.

yup I can confirm this. Had F flights on both the morning and afternoon flight in Sept. Asked if UA could get me to HKG on another carrier, they said no.

Another one here... Had a SYD>BKK>HKG F class flight on UA award before devaluation. BKK>HKG now changed to Business Class. Checked expertflyer, all BKK>HKG flights no longer have F, hoping they may change again, it is TG afterall...you never know until you get on the plane...

Another route lost F

658. BKK-ICN. 747 changed to A350 (booked for Aug, 2018). Its still lie-flat but frustrating to go from F to J.

Although I anticipate the answer is “no”, it would be nice if we were able to at least keep the First Lounge/Spa benefits. Any thoughts on trying to convince TG to allow that?

I wonder what’s the compensation if you get TG’d when you either bought your ticket with money, got it as an award or as an upgrade?

What happens when it’s one leg out of many (RT, transit, etc. )?

from what United told me, nothing. It simply becomes a mixed cabin itinerary (for me, SYD BKK HKG) since my SYD BKK is still in F apparently no compensation is due

I would like to figure this out. I kind of redeemed this 40K UA F ticket primarily to experience the BKK F lounge experience ...

If you're in F on SYD-BKK, don't you still get the BKK F lounge access?

i believe so, or should. but I arrive 10pm sept 5 depart 4pm sept 6 so I think for me it becomes a little more difficult. Or should I be able to arrive from SYD, remain airside and overnight and access F lounge when it opens at 5am?

Q: If arriving in TG F and departing in TG C the following day, will I get access to the F lounge?

A: Offically the answer is no as you need a same day ticket, however some people have been granted access in this situation. So very much a YMMV situation.

FAQ: Royal First Class Lounge and Royal Orchid Spa information and access.
