From that report it just seems like business as usual

I remember they offered some enhanced retirement deals a few years ago, to reduce the number of older (meaning more expensive) employees, when they were looking to cut costs.

I am totally unfamiliar with Thai bankruptcy laws (or whatever they are called).
Is TG obliged/allowed to pay its employees while they are under this process?

It was reported on Sunday, 1 November in the Daily News https://www.dailynews.co.th/economic/804366 that Wiwat Piyawiroj, TG EVP Commercial Affairs stated that TG was updating its scheduled service for Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and Australia. This is for the following travelers (unchanged from current group);
- Foreign residents to return home
- Thai students

- Special Tourist VISA (STV) holders.

7 cities announced;
1. Round-trip route Bangkok - London on Sunday, 1 flight per week
2. Round-trip route Bangkok - Frankfurt on Friday, 1 flight per week.
3. Round-trip route Bangkok - Copenhagen on Sunday, 1 flight per week.
4. Round-trip route. Bangkok - Hong Kong - November Wednesday 4 and 18 Nov 20, December 20 1 flight per week.

Isolation for 14 days at Thai designated hotels still applies.
The news says they can be booked online. I did a quick search and see the flights at TG booking site.

Terrible how this has come about, however don’t see any buyers out there in the current climate.

Those 777-300 are not ER, so no hope for them. 747-400, besides HS-TGG which is only 17, no much hope for them either. The 200ERs are still young but as you said in this climate...

That's not going to raise much cash, apart from scrapping value there is not much of a market for 747s or 777-300 (non ER version), so many airlines are retiring 777-200s in various versions right now, there is even no real bids for Delta's relatively new 200LR.

Let's not get in to the value of the old A340s

In the current climate, scrap value only

TG's management has been trying to sell all 747/A346 and A345 as well as the 737 for so many many years - I am wondering what do they expect in such short time of only one week and not to mention the current business surrounding?

The 747s (being relatively new) and maybe the 777-300s could be sold as freight conversions, but obviously not at prices that Thai would want to get for them.

Putting its fleet up for sale like this is probably just to show that they are 'trying everything' to avoid bankruptcy to please the courts rather than actually thinking they will get any meaningful amount of money for them.

TG has just spent a large sum to restore HS-TGF back to service after in storage for many years. Unfortunately, COVID-19 came in unexpected. Now a newly restored HS-TGF may go direct to scrapyard or getting converted to cargo.
