Any chance this is where the remaining A350-900 is going? Or have we already accounted for this? Would fit in with dates...
The last remaining A350 is still on the ground but will start flying in a week or so.
But you got it right, the add A350 aircraft will be utilized for expending th A350s into BKK-PVG route as it has 2 daily RT flights at about 11 hours each which is about 24 hours, exactly the additional aircraft to the group of A350s.

The link says that A350 service to PGV which was originally scheduled from 21APR18, was rescheduled to commence service from 01JUN18.
Nevertheless, TG664/5 is still being operated by 77W.

THAI names new chairman (Bangkok Post)

The board of Thai Airways International Plc (THAI) Wednesday approved the appointment of Ekniti Nitithanprapas, director-general of the Revenue Department, as the carrier’s new chairman of the board of directors, says a source who was at the meeting. Mr Ekniti will replace Somchai Sujjapongse, the former finance permanent secretary, who quit his civil service career in April.
The board also wants the incoming president, Sumeth Damrongchaitham, who is currently managing director of Dhanarak Asset Management Co, to start working at THAI as soon as possible, the source said. In May, Mr Sumeth was tentatively selected as the new president. The source said that all additional negotiations from the remuneration subcommittee have been completed and the board agreed to hire him. The source said the executives also discussed the current rehabilitation plan, adding that the new president should be able to continue the plan immediately when the current acting president, Usanee Sangingkoeaw, ends her term at the end of September. If Mr Sumeth is appointed, he will take control of an airline struggling for growth in an environment of high fuel costs and competition from low-cost carriers.
Thai Airways reported a 14% drop in net profit for the January-March quarter after booking a loss for 2017.

Oh no. HKT-HKT was a good flight to redeem points/miles - easy to get award seats in C. The fares are often quite high despite LLCs flying back and forth between HKG and HKT.

it was also a good connection from Frankfurt on weekend nights with a short transit time in Phuket "smooth as silk"...but not worth to opt for a low cost product for a 3,5hrs flight after a 11hrs longhaul trip

In business class KA was more expensive and TG had a superior product with a good A330 seat and decent food/wine.
