BKK LAX is anyway on the watch list as it creates loss for TG. But I doubt they will give up their only remaining flight to USA. Too prestigious and too many TIPs interfering.

Just wanted to report back after my previous question that it seems TG flights are now bookable all the way out to April 20 now (presumably moving everyday with the calendar now). Of course the day I wanted SYD-BKK had no F, so I had to add an extra day in SYD, oh well. Thanks for the earlier help.

Meal service on TG308 CMB to BKK
Hello all
Thanks to all your help I am finally going to be flying TG first for the first time on Saturday and I couldn't be more excited! My itinerary is TG308 CMB to BKK in J and then a long layover (we're going to head into town for the day) before TG910 BKK to London in F.
A couple of final quick questions.
1. What meal service in J can we expect on TG308? It departs CMB at 0120 and lasts just over 3 hours? The good news is that since booking the flight now seems to be operated by an A330 rather than a short haul plane.
2. I *think* this is a stupid question, but is it "better " to book meal in advance or wait to see what turns up on board for TG910 in F?
3. Finally based on previous comments we're going to ask to go to the F lounge at BKK on arrival, shower and rest before asking to be escorted to immigration to explore the city. Nothing posted recently suggests there would be any problem with this approach?
I hope I'm not missing anything pre-trip!? I'm keeping every finger crossed that we get the new F on the 747 - looks like it operates 6/7 flights; the remainder is the old seat.
Thank you all for your help!

1. Colombo Bangkok: a typical red eyes flight. not so clear policy recently whether it is late night supper or breakfast. for your flight I would guess breakfast. But I would skip it for some longer sleep and a nice breakfast in the F lounge in BKK!
2. Book a meal and you can still go back to one on the menu. the crew is usually very flexible. ask for more caviar, ask to have two main courses or whatever. You are in F and you are VIP!
3. Sure! if on same ticket, escort should actually pick you up on arrival, take you with the cart to security and bring you to F lounge. If not, go to A/B/C/D intersection and then through security up to departure level. get out of security and 200 meters to your left is the F lounge.
enjoy!

entertainment box
boeing 747 I'm flying Thai Air- BKK to Lhr 12 hr flight. All of these aisle seats have entertainment boxes under the seat which restricts leg room the other choice is a window seat forget about the middle seat.
I like the aisle as I can come and go without disturbing anyone. I'ts a necessity to have leg room though.I'm thinking I could extend one leg under the seat in front and one leg in the aisle most of the time.I have been on seatguru.com and searched their seat map.I'm flying economy so I don't have many choices.
Does this sound do able?

Disappointing TG intra-Asia experience
Had 3 intra-Asia (BKK-HAN-BKK, BKK-MNL) segments in Y with TG - travelling with partner and infant - and were not overwhelmed at all, not with their veggie special meals (bland), no tea choice, nor service (no smiling) nor handling of infant (no babybelt due to TG regulation, no toys handed out to any kids despite their webpage statement).
However, liked the priority boarding for families as well as the 787 seats and Y's PTV and rest rooms.
Wondering if these aircrafts (787, 772) have same seat conf for Europe's 10+ hrs flights ? Asking this also as then otherwise what's the availability for upgrading to J with M&M ?
Thanks for any experience/comments!

of course you can upgrade with M&M miles; the A380 and 773 have full flat seats in J

787 and 772 are not common for TG flights to Europe. They use A380 (to main airports FRA, CDG, LHR (soon) and to others 773 and 747. an overview about seats is here:

my experience: if transit within 24 hours, it is possible to check through. However sometimes at check in, they will come with all kind of excuses (flight not yet opened in system etc.), but after I insisted and also asked to talk to the supervisor, it was always possible to check through
