I also experienced a delay, and in the end I called them to say it seemed slow coming, and it was sent to me immediately. They said it was queued to be sent the following day, but I asked for it to be sent ‘on the spot’.

The (very) old birthday 50% Gold award offer in your birthday month +/- one month was changed some years ago to the same 50% off an award booking, but at any time during your current ROP membership term.
Good luck in finding award availabilty at the moment, it's much more restricted than in the past.

From TGs baggage page:
Carry-on Baggage
In addition to the checked baggage allowance, Star Alliance Gold Status customers, travelling in Business or First Class and have a journey involving two or more Star Alliance carriers, are entitled to bring two pieces of carry-on baggage (where aircraft restrictions and local regulations permit).

Departing Bangkok on a flight to South Asia I would estimate that the vast majority of passengers in both classes had carry-on baggage of more than 7 kg and some more than 20 kg in two or more bags/luggage. Anything (almost) is accepted.

Hey all,
Just saw that a TG flight I have next Friday (so about a week and a half away) just got a positive equipment swap from a 772 to a 359. All the swaps I’ve experienced on TG have happened much closer to departure. So I have a few questions. A. Since I swap happened already, what’re the chances of it being swapped back to a 772, or is it fools errand to try to predict this? B. If a swap back to a 772 happens, and I pick a seat in a row that doesn’t exist on the 772 (say row 17 on a 359, but there is no row 17 on a 772), do I have a greater chance of being downgraded/bumped? Thanks!

B. I assume you are in J? Well, if the actual number of J pax on a 359 exceeds that of a 772, and there is a 772 swap then some pax have to get bumped. TBH I am not sure of THAI’s policy, but if you have status hopefully others get bumped first… and if you do get bumped then there is compensation or rescheduling options. If on the 772 I assume this is a regional sector - something like BKK-SIN?

A. A fools errand to assume there might not be another swap, as tech things happen with everybodys airline fleet - THAI just has quite a mixed fleet. But I do think that a further swap now is less likely given the proactive change.

Thanks for the insight. Yep I’m in J flying BKK-DPS, so only a single daily flight and no other non-stop options I think, I have *G status via UA but no TG status. It does look like they’ve blocked enough seats on the 359 that there won’t be more than 30 pax (the number of J seats on the 772), unless of course they unblock those seats.
There are other direct flights on LCCs (FD, QZ, ID), but I’d stick with TG …
