It's worth it for the BKK-HKG leg, not the return. I burn Avios for CX flying out of HKIA so I can use the CX lounges.

I must be really lucky. Have not waited more than 5 mins inbound or 3 mins outbound in half-dozen visits over the past year.

Now Macau, that's a different story . . . .

I'm not sure it's reasonable to expect to be treated like a god among men for 13,500 Avios + $50 (the cost in Avios plus surcharges, etc. for HKG-TPE, which does get CX F on some flights).

Or do you actually spend cash for CX F? You know, cash, the thing that keeps airlines in business?

(I might note that BKK has cheap labor, and LH has clamped down hard on us cheapskates who only pay for LH F with miles... if CX trades off excellent ground service in HKG with cutting back award seats, I'll happily walk to HKG immigration, thankyouverymuch.)

CX really needs to improve on that. Love the service in BKK and FRA.
TG used to have a buggy ride on departure when it departed from the main terminal in HKG. Once it moved to the charter terminal (T2), that was not possible anymore. So you have a long walk to get to the train and then two trains in succession.

TG used to have a buggy ride from the plane to the immigration hall on arrival, as all arrivals are in the main terminal. But have not taken TG F for a while.

Immigration on arrival has a long single line but that is served by a large number of immigration counters and the immigration procedure for most pax is very fast. The single line is usually impressive in length but very fast. If you go to HKG often it is worth to register as frequent visitor and go through e-gates. APEC card is great too.

The last time I flew TG F exHKG we checked in at Kowloon station and were given vouchers for a buggy shuttle from immigration to the TG lounge.

Dom Perignon?

Is Dom Perignon champagne served on this route BKK-HKG in First Class?

Or is it substituted with a less expensive champagne?

TG still has the buggy ride to immigration on arrival at HKIA.

Couldn't tell you, I've only done inbound at HKG and haven't paid that close attention to the folks holding the sign on the jetway. I like to fly CX out of that airport so I can access the Wing.

Amex to that.

BTW: Why did I pick the coldest weekend of summer to visit SF (your locale)? My lord man, this is the one thing I detested when living in SF.....

When my friends all (now) live in the inner sunset and western addition that's not quite possible.

How they deal with this on a day to day and year to year basis is completely beyond me. I never lived west of Guerrero/Octavia.
