This link to the "old new" first class seats does not seem to be working.

Hi, I notice TGO and TGB are flying often from BKK to LHR - have these planes been updated to the new 9 seat config in first class?
We are flying in December / Jan and I've been allocated 1A and 1K and Thai says it's a 9 seat config but by looking on the forum it seems Thai change planes at random.

According to acards.org TGO last flew BKK-LHR on 17 Apr. Since it's been TGY, TGZ, TGA, TGB, TGG. There were a few substitutions while TGB was in the shop, but since it returned to service it's been the new F only.

Cool, does that mean all planes between BKK and LHR (and back) have got the 9 seat FC cabin?

Cabin Retrofit status on TG's 747s

On Thais cabin class breakdown PDF which has been posted here in a few places they do state their intention is to run LHR with the refurbed 747s with 9 F. What they actually send is another story but they do appear to be getting better.

Got a 9 seater on a flight from HKT>BKK yesterday. Funny route for this bird if you ask me.

BTW - I really think they did a terrible job with the refurb.

Not surprised. TG is known for cutting corners where it matters most and internal corruption is the main culprit.

However, these birds are pretty old anyway so I can understand why TG did what they did (corruption aside)

not a funny route when you consider the aircraft was probably going to be sitting on the ground all day anyway....

BKK-MUC

Let me begin by apologizing for my ignorance. I've read over many of the messages, but still feel sub-literate try to decipher the shorthand.

I'm a teacher, and this will be the only flight I've ever been on when I was in first class (I was bumped up to business class once, but only because the person wanted to be nice to someone in education).

What I'm trying to figure out is whether my BKK-MUC flight on 7/30 (TG924) will be in the new first class or the old. Any clarification would be much appreciated.

Why? If this is your first time in F, why on earth should you be disappointed

This is going to be a great experience whether or not you get a semi closed suite.

Cheer up and enjoy.
