So really I have just under two hours here due to re scheduling . The problem
I'm worried about is I arrive in BKK at 10.15pm and depart 12.05am will it be closed?
I'm traveling in F and wife kids in J. I'm hoping after we land i can get room
On the buggy for my wife my kids 4 and 2 can sit on our laps. I know I can guest her into the F lounge but I want a massage and wife wants half hour. Because I don't have alot of time and not flexible I would like to put in a request
For the treatments before we arrive so I can start at 10.30 finish wife jump in at 11.30 then board. Cutting it close but is that possible ?

On another question when we get off at BKK from
Sydney is there any cheap shopping around ? I have relatives in Europe and I want to pick up some cheap Johnny blue label and some Calvin Klein gear

I find the full massage can take 90min allowing for shower before & after.

With less than 2 hours in transit you might be able to get 30 min massages each.
There are a number of variables: Flight Arrival Time, Arrival Gate, Buggy being there.

Shopping can be cheap if there are sales on.

If you are able to converse with your buggy driver, or the ground attendant at the cabin door, either can contact the spa for you. On another note, any product you buy in Sydney will remain as cabin baggage, so has to be taken off the plane in BKK. Keep this in mind, if you have to lug a lot of stuff around, do not open the duty free packages and be prepared for the lounge only accepting 1 guest at a time, but I am sure you know all this. Unless the arriving flight is early you won't get the full hour; with the possibility of a wait your family will get their 30 minutes in the chair.

Don't think you can pre-book. In my experience the full body massage usually requires a bit of a wait.

That depends upon the time of day. Early morning and mid-afternoon I've never waited. My guess is arriving at 10PM and getting in the queue with the other FC'ers could pose a problem with a short layover due to the European flight bank.

I may have to skip the massage I was really looking forward to it . I shouldn't have a problem guesting my wife into the F lounge at BKK and children 4 and 2 surely wouldn't count . I have been readin TG are pretty flexible .

The terminal I can't allow my wife and two kids to walk and hope for the best. Has anyone had experience will allowing extra J passengers getting on board the buggy for the ride to the lounge. Perhaps it depends on if there is room I guess ATM I got in touch with TG in Sydney and said the cabin is 80% full

Was thinking of purchasing duty free in BKK, as it will most likely be cheaper than at SYD.

Is there a procedure to follow in BKK, i.e., get it delivered to gate, or can you purchase at shop and it'll be fine to take onboard?

You're allowed one guest. Whether they allow decide your children are extra guests or not should not be taken for granted.

For the buggy ride, two conditions must be met.
1) there has to be some space available. They plan the buggy according to the number of F pax and their destination (F lounge or immigration). You might be unlucky and no space on the buggies to F lounge. There will usually be only one escort agent for the group (possibly two buggies) to the F lounge.
2) You have to talk the escort agent into waiting for the J pax to disembark (other F pax will not be happy) and accepting the extra pax. And the escort agent probably does not speak good english. Maybe an idea is to be very slow to disembark so that your wife kids reach you quickly.

You can try telling the FA in first and ask if they can contact Thai ground staffs in advance for an extra buggy. Worth a try, and they might even be able to reserve a slot at the spa for you. At BKK, you can reserve a spa time at check-in, so, technically you are checking in since SYD (That might be stretching it a bit too much....:rolleyes:)

For a more relaxed experience I would recommend that you and your wife take the half hour massage which is very nice for F and C. This will remove the stress of your transfer.

For the buggy ride I admire you for your sense of entitlement and would recommend to your party to walk. I would do this by myself between two such long flights. Your body will thank you.

You will have barely the time to use the F lounge if you also want to do some shopping after the massage, but TG is known to be very (too ?) child friendly.

He's not travelling at 0005 anymore, nor on TG ex BKK.

TG kicked them off the 77W to CDG as apparently children are not allowed in the C or F cabin on that aircraft for safety reasons. He's rebooked on MS.

Personally I think that's worthy of its own thread in the TG forum as this rule doesn't seem to be documented anywhere?

Who will be watching your kids if both you and your wife will be at the spa? There will be some overlap as it takes time to check-in and go back and forth between the lounge and spa so unless you both go with 30 minute treatments, it will probably be cutting it close.
