Tax free wine allowance Thailand
I am flying onto BKK in a couple of weeks for a 16 day holiday in Hua Hin. Travelling with my wife and baby. Usually I would stay at a hotel, but we have rented a house instead to be more flexible.
How much wine can we bring with us. I was planning 6-8 bottles of wine, no liquor and no cigarettes. The reason I was planning this was to make sure I have some good bottles of wine rather than saving money on taxes.
I have had some bad experiences on holidays in Greece where it is impossible to find good wines anywhere, only the greek ink.
I am already assuming this is over the limit. If it is,
what kind of trouble could we get. Fine, confiscation.
Could I just pay the duty?
What is the limit?
Anyone know if it is possible to find a good wine merchant in HuaHin.

It´s one liter person and I don´t think there´s an easy way of bringing in more (like paying duty on the amount exceeding your allowance, as you can do in other countries)

I would avoid bringing so many bottles. Things can get nasty at Thai customs.
You can find good wines in major tourist destinations (including HuaHin as mentioned above). It is just that the prices are very high, in part due to taxes. But the troubles you could get in at customs, besides confiscation, could be significant.

In the forecourt of the shopping plaza, to the right behind the Starbucks Coffee is a superb wine shop, This is the shop WLG Base is thinking about too
