FRA-BKK 923 switched to 777-300

So our FRA to BKK on 12/27 is now showing 777-300 instead of 747-400. We are booked in First so I'm guessing this is a good thing as it will be a 3-cabin correct? I'm hoping that Thai doesn't put 2 cabin planes on this route?

I've called and they say it is the "Jet Airways" configuration (my words, not theirs).

The flight is currently only selling Business, I'm guessing because of the reduction of F it is now sold out and Y is also sold out. So hopefully that is a good sign of non-cancellation.

You're very lucky because that's the configuration people used to get on BKK-CDG and it has the new "suites" in F. ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

"...used to get on bkk-cdg..." ??

Do they still fly the new F cabins on the cdg route or is it the old F?

If I wanted to increase my odds of flying the new F cabin in march, should I pick one of the two flights to CD or go with the bkk-fra route?

My March 2 2012 flight in F on TG 922 is also switched to 777-300. Expertflyer shows it is ex Jet Airways configuration.

March 1 SYD-BKK is on B747-400 instead of A346.

Oh I did not mean to imply that they pulled that equipment from BKK-CDG, "used to" meant more like "people used to report being on..".

People don't report daily what equipment they got and I don't fly it daily so I tried to cautiously say that the CDG sector has been getting that equipment in the past. No forward-looking statement intended.

As far as the OP goes, he won the TG lottery on this one

Don't know that yet - a full month is left for them to swap

Hi there,

Just flew TG - BKK -FRA / F Class -1A on Dec8th

Had a great flight - If you are flying F class - its a Suite - you can check it out on 9W website- TG leased it from 9W.

Cheers

This is indeed great, although not new news.

Keeping my fingers crossed for early January to catch that bird in C out of FRA.

Talking Great F class

I had the opportunity to enjoy this F class too, BKK-FRA. I was so surprised, had not heard of this configuration before. I wish I could have this on all night flights because the seat must be ideal for sleeping. I only quickly tried full flat mode, and found out the seat/bed is so wide that I think I could even sleep in freefaller position. Fantastic!

Does that mean the 300 is no longer doing the Paris route? I just booked it for March. Should I reroute?

No, the 77W is also on the CDG Route. TG has a "new" 77W fom Jet Airways.

I have an award redemption for this flight (BKK-FRA 926) in late April, but it's still showing the 747... any idea if the 77W will still be on this route in late April? I selected this flight specifically for the Suites!

i think nobody knows at this moment where the 77W goes in the summer flightplan. I booked the route MUC-BKK extra especially for the suites, and then they subbed it to FRA.

926 is not a FRA flight number! TG922/3 is operated by 77W up until 24 March...after that the timetable shows a return to 2 x daily 744s at FRA. The timetable has only ever shown 77W until March AFAIK.

Edit: Interestingly KVS shows the BKK-MUC flight as 773 from 25 March onwards...but pulls up a 744 seatmap. TG website shows 744 as well. But I wonder if it's a sign of things to come.
