Aircraft on TG out of ARN
 

Hi all,

I'm looking at flying for the first time on TG with my partner and I am trying to sort out the best flight out of ARN to BKK. I've heard that TG have some older planes which do not offer personal IFE in Economy so I'd like to route on flights on the newer or refurbished planes if possible :)

I've had a look around on SeatGuru and on the TG website but can't really seem to find a definite answer for which configurations are on which flights.

Flights I am looking at are:

TG 961 (ARN - BKK)
TG 955 (OSL - BKK), requiring connection

Also I am looking at flying onward from BKK to AKL and wondered if anyone knows if the 777 is the 777-200, 777-200ER or 777-300 variant (TG 491).

ARN - BKK is operated by the old config 747 (as is CPH) without seatback IFE in economy.

OSL - BKK is operated by 772ER which does have AVOD in Y.

All of this subject to change of course...TG seems to be doing a lot of schedule/aircraft changes at the moment.

I think AKL is also 772ER.

There were some lucky Y pax last week to/from ARN.

HS-TGT with AVOD in Y did a returntrip.

If PTVs are important I would fly through OSL, because it is pretty much always operated by the 772ER (there has been subs to 747s but they are very rare).

Auckland is also operated by the 772ER, so you might be one the same plane for both of your flights :)

Thanks guys, great advice - Much appreciated, sounds like OSL might be the way to go then.. I'd rather spend +1 hour flying and a little bit of time at the airport to fly on a better plane for 10+ hours.. :)

Would I be right in assuming that the TG461 flight from BKK to MEL would be on the 777-200ER as well then?

MEL flights vary between 772ER and 773 - both of which have decent onboard products, AVOD in Y etc.

As wheresmybagba says it is a mix between 772/773, but mostly 772ERs and both does have a good Y-class. Check this link for the registrations and type of the last 777 to operate TG461:
