I vaguely remember seeing my selection had also changed to hindu vegetarian also. Just logged on to check and at thaiair.com and .co.uk and both show me that the system is unavailable. Any other way to check, I can't just see a summary of my trip it seems?

The pre-order system is highly unreliable. Despite ordering my F meal online, I actually got the Hindu vegetarian. The FAs agreed the online pre-ordering is often incorrect. Hopefully the system is down until they can sort out the kinks in the system. At least the new ThaiAir.com website got a refreshed design.

I didn't pre order but instead had the duck with some chocolate cherry sauce. I have to say it was really bad. The meat was so rubbery it felt like I was eating a pencil eraser. The food was quite a disappointment on TG and was even more shocked to learn no arrivals lounge for F pax in BKK.

oh my god! the duck with the chocolate sauce. it is really terrible. That they still have it on the menu after such a long time is beyond my understanding

However, when I return to the http://www.thaiairways.co.uk/ page, I check my reservation (http://wftc3.e-travel.com/plnext/tha...VB&LANGUAGE=GB) and it displays vegetarian hindu. It is worth noting that the UK website times out when attempting to see the pre-order menu, so ordering through there is impossible.
I think this must be a coding issue. If the domain you view your reservation through, no longer has a functioning pre-order system, your pre-order defaults to option number 1 : vegetarian hindu.
I'm just hoping that my actual reservation, as read by the caterers pre-flight, indicates my preference correctly.
So, the million dollar question is: has anybody else flown with hindu vegetarian appearing on their booking and actually gotten the meal they pre-ordered?
If not, wish me luck. I'll be the FT guinea pig, hoping for a lobster breakfast from LHR-BKK on Saturday

I successfully ordered the penang prawn curry on the website.
It was tasty. I would have liked a little more spice to the sauce, but the prawns were high quality and perfectly cooked and the portion generous (approx. eight medium size prawn).

I write this as I wait in the TG lounge in BKK. I preordered the Pad Thai via the website. When I logged in it showed up as a Hindu meal. When at the counter was advised the SSR showed AVML (Asian vegetarian) was advised this is not the Hindu meal. Asked about my Pad Thai that I ordered and was advised that I cannot get it as they need 24 hours notice. Fair enough. Hope they are able to fix the booking engine to reflect the correct meal requested. I decided to just order off the menu. In the future I will just call them up.

I had the red duck curry last week ex-NRT and it was surprisingly good. The purser told me they make it at NRT, so the taste might not be authentic, but I was pleased with my choice.

My lamb pre-order still shows as Vegetarian Hindu. I've got until March 24th before I'm on the flight so still some time for them to resolve the issue but if it persists I may just remove the pre-order a couple days ahead of time and just order on board. Or alternatively I assume if the mistake does carry and they load a Vegetarian Hindu meal you can just decline and opt for ordering on board?
