El Paso Dining options
Finding myself with an extended 10 day biz trip mid August to El Paso...
Any dining recommendations to pass along? Think i've read about the steakhouses and appears good.. Thanks |
When my inlaws are in Las Cruces they head over to El Paso to go to some BBQ place called the State Line or something. Apparently they have these huge beef ribs (I'm more of a baby back person myself).

As a third generation El Pasoan, I can recommend a few places. Stateline is very good; however, yesterday ( in the big storm), they were flooded. Don't know if it will be cleaned up by the time you get here. Look at Geo Geskes in Kern Place near UTEP. Also Cafe Central downtown, Great American Land and Cattle (a couple of locations), If you like Mexican, I can recommend Leo's (prefer the Westside location), Avila's, L and J which is close to the I-10 and US- 54( off of the Copia St. exit). Casa Jurado (across the street from Geo Geskes), and Forte's Mexican Elder ( off I-10 and Chelsea). We had a very damaging rain storm dumping more water than I can every remember. Down by the Stateline, it was very flooded and the water was still standing as of this morning. There are also the assortment of the chains; but if you are like me, you like to try the local outfits. PM me if any questions.

I always get clients in from out of town and take them to the following restaurants:
BBQ -- State Line Steak -- Cattlemans Italian -- Cappeto's (family owned - more authentic)/Macaroni Grill (more of a chain) Mexican -- take your pick -- depends on which side of town your are staying Tacos -- Taco Tote--excellent for lunch... Gourmet -- CafeCentral Burgers -- Frisco's need anything else, pls let me know |
I was like to take my family to the dome restaurant downtown, the food is good but the restaurant is beautiful
