DFW Terminal Logistics

(Did I miss something or have the individual boards based on airports disappeared?)

I am arriving to DFW on a US flight that I think will arrive in Terminal B. One of the people I am meeting up with is arriving AA at the same time in I believe Terminal A. We are both being picked up by a third individual.

What is the best meeting place, etc.??? Is one of us better off meeting the other at their Terminal and having our ride pick us up there? And how easy is it for a ride to pick us up?

Thanks!

Unfortunately American has flights from A,B and C and soon D. The currently scheduled gate arrival really means only about 20% accuracy! I never trust it until the flight actuallyu arrives!

The new tram system is VERY efficient .. however it is INSIDE security so if either of you have luggage to collect it is impossible to use.

Failing all else, the Car Rental location provides a free shuttle from all terminals to the common rental counters. They so not ask for an agreement .. you get on at one of three spots at the gate area, and everyone gets off at the Rental Center.. and find their own counter.

The lower level of the Rental center is for the bus to drop people off. The upper level is for the bus to take you back to the terminals.

As I recall, on the lower lever there appears to be a small parking lot in the middle of the complex .. for people driving up with someone to rent a car. I am not exactly sure how someone would drive there but it is NOT the 'returns' area .. but the Rental Center area. This might be a better location.

Short of that . with the luggage issue and the tram being inside security it will be hard for two travelers to 'meet' at one location for the third person to pick them up. The other option (the obvious one) would be to each have mobile phones and call the 'picking up' person with where each person is waiting. There are ways to drive terminal to terminal (confusing at best).

I think most of the other 'shuttles' like remote parking will require you to present a ticket for your car ..

I don't think either of us will have checked luggage - so how does the tram system work there? While we will exchange cell numbers, I think just getting to one spot for our ride to meet us would be our goal.

The tram makes two stops at every terminal. There are signs for 'connections' at other terminals. Print this page and it gives you the gate locations within each terminal. http://www.dfwairport.com/transport/connect.html

The tran goes both ways .. so you need to pick to one going the direction you want .. tho eventually (10 minutes) it makes a full circle.

The person picking up .. could park at Terminal B near the US gate .. this is the 'least busy' location at DFW (compared to AA's many gates). Then only the AA traveler would need to make the 'change'!

Expanding on the above post a bit...

The US person should walk to the UA gates, where the skylink station is (between B28 and B31). Hang out at a UA gate, Starbucks, or the McDonalds. The AA person should ride to this skylink station. The 3rd person doing the pickup should meet them at UA baggage claim.

The US gates are not right on top of the skylink station, and I think that part of B is a little messier. UA is right on the end of their 1/3 of ther terminal, and a bit easier to get in and out sometimes.
