Car Rental Houston George Bush

Having spent many holidays in the USA, we are for the first time flying into Houston next week (29th) being an airport I have never been to, not sure where to go, or how to get to the Car Rental location, can someone give me some pointers at all please ?

Thankyou for any help :-)

From the IAH website:

  • Follow signs to “Ground Transportation”
  • Exits are marked with “Rental Car” signs
  • Look for blue and white buses marked “Rental Car Shuttle”

At IAH most (maybe all) car rentals are at a consolidated off-site location. TWA884 gave the directions; you'll get on the bus to the site, then look for the particular agency you have booked (hint: hopefully you have checked out the car rental forum and don't have to deal with the main desk, lines can be long!)

For your return, you'll need to factor in a few extra minutes to drop-off the vehicle and take the shuttle to the terminal. If you have a large group with a bit of luggage, you might be better off dropping off passengers/bags at the terminal first, then just the driver deals with the vehicle (so long as time permits).

DATED CONTENT ALERT. Used to fly in and out of IAH all the time but have not in several years. This comment may be helpful to you or may be horribly out of date.

Central facility. Not a difficult in or out at all.

But, gas is hard to find on JFK going into the airport and what stations there were were high priced and somewhat difficult to exit in traffic. But I suppose any standard phone app can help you out with that. Just might not count on one in the last mile or two.
