Drive to Houston (Friendswood, TX) Tips?

Any suggestions or tips?

My friend and his wife are flying into San Antonio tonight and then driving tomorrow morning to Friendswood, TX, between Houston and Galveston. Her dad is stuck there with the house flooded. They have rented an AWD truck and picking up supplies in SAT before heading out tomorrow early morning.

Drive Texas website

Check out the website - drivetexas.org . It is one the best sources for closures on roadways and accidents, etc. Plan for any trips to include detours and extended drive times.

Make sure they have filled up with gas and have enough gas to get them from San Antonio to Houston AND back.
