I was asking the OP, but yes, they do like to remove all alive trees when constructing here.

It's simply being done in "an abundance of caution".

Lots of distressed trees in the city are being cut down due to the drought. BTW Dallas zoning is pretty strict with new tree planting in new development

In Dallas even the Arboretum tries to cut down trees!

It was drought related. A lot of the trees that weren't completely mature didn't make it through the drought and needed to be taken down, otherwise they would be a hazard and disease host for healthy trees.

Not just drought related. Seems every time there is construction, they cut down healthy mature trees :mad:
Take Parkland (ironic name) Hospital. They cut down four or five perfectly good trees along Harry Hines Blvd for no good reason at all. You can see the stumps on the OTHER side of the fence that isolates the construction :td: Guess they don't want to block the view once the construction is finished :rolleyes: EmailKid |
