Question Longshot request: Saudi Arabian BBJ at Love Field

OK, I realize it's a longshot, but does anyone know why Saudi Arabia BBJ HZ-MF2 (not my pic but one from A.net) landed at DAL Saturday around 4 p.m.

Went by today (Sunday) and it's parked at the east side of Love Field - you can actually see it as you drive by on Lemmon.

Inquiring minds want to know.

According to another website, this plane is registered to the Saudi Ministry of Finance and Economy.

Here's an interesting audio of same plane talking to Montreal Centre.

Maybe here for something related to the awl bidness (oil business to non-Texans),

Yes, saw that, along with a pic of the pygmy 747 in the other Saudi color scheme.

Yes, but then shouldn't it be in Houston

You know, we have a few smaller oil and gas companies here in the area, e.g. ExxonMobil.

High-Level Saudi Delegation to Visit USA

The delegation, comprising representatives from various government sides, will visit the US Supreme Court and Wall Street and hold talks with a number of Senators, representatives of some US states, US Justice Secretary, Attorney General, Deputy and Assistant Secretary of State, Dallas Methodist University academicians and senior officials, among others.

Focus is on law and justice, not oil!

Indeed, but Houston is considered the capital of ol (oil outside of the South) industry in US.

I live 15 blocks from DAL runways and watch planes landing while floating in the pool! DAL gets a lot of potentates private jets for maintenance. And when I say private jets were talking 75's and 76's. Dalfort aviation as well as others is located at Love. Remember all those old Braniff headquarters and hangers are now private maintenance. I also see airlines not served by DAL fly there often for work. Some Spirit, Allegiant and commuters. Lots of Mid-East private jets get work done at Love. All size of aircraft as well from 747's to the smallest experimental.

Bet the Saudis had just as difficult a time finding the nonexistent Dallas Methodist University as they did raising Montreal Center on 127.37

Associated Air Center at DAL also does interior completions for ex-airliners being converted into VVIP private aircraft.

DAL is a very important airport for all manner of MRO work. Planespotters heaven, really. Gulfstream does G150/G200/G280 completions at DAL. Bombardier has a service center here too. Plus the aforementioned Dalfort and Associated hangars off of Lemmon Ave that see lots of heavy iron...

Connecting through DAL today and was looking out the window. Saw what appeared to be a narrow-body Airbus and another narrow-body both in private livery at Associated Air Center's hangars. Are there always birds like that sitting over there?

Went on Associated Air Center's website and they describe themselves as Boeing Business Jet and Airbus Corporate Jet specialists. That must be a short list of clientele.

Very rarely do I see private livery Airbus.

There is a 762 that belongs to Dallas Mavericks, and maybe 737, but I'm a little fuzzy on that right now.

There is also Dallas Airmotive, which I think is the largest independent MRO out there but I do know it is part of BBA group which is huge. A lot of Gulfstreams and Honeywell powered aircraft in that hangar.

Well, Mexican "Air Force One" was here for over a year, but never did see that 788 fly

Also here for a few days was Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 748.

Finally saw Air Force One take off last time President was in town. The only 747 I've seen here.

And it's usually DL A3xx that I see landing (for some reason never taking off) in addition to their five daily flights to ATL.

No more AC now that hockey season is over (well, for Canadians anyway).
