Some problems with the 'update'. Post what's missing/problems

I can't access FORUM home, that used to be located up top, just above where it says Miles and Points (in the banner above).

What happened to listing the date when the original thread started? I found this useful.

Are these temporary bugs? Or are they enhancements? ;)

linsj Sep 5, 2008 6:19 am

I missed the start dates on threads right away. Please bring them back!

uncertaintraveler Sep 5, 2008 6:33 am

And what happened to the "Help" or whatever it was titled, that was right above "OMNI" in the FT banner? It contained a link to the airport codes, IIRC.

Mikel at Webflyer Sep 5, 2008 6:49 am

Thanks for pointing out these glitches. All in all, the upgrade to new software has gone pretty well, but there will always be a few unforeseen issues along the way it seems. We're working on these items now to get them resolved, please bear with us.

And also, please continue to post here if you run into other problems.

Thanks.

Ditto. Was this intentional? I hope not. It was a very useful field.

FlyingOnceMore Sep 5, 2008 6:56 am

Clicking either Post Reply, or Quote in a posting has an intermittent fault. Sometimes the earlier posts show below the Reply to Thread text entry box, sometimes not.

When the reply page attempt to load and doesn't succeed in loading the posts, it refreshs to bring up the Reply to Thread box only.

Second!

This is a very important feature as many of us skip old threads.

I'll second that motion.

That was what I have noticed most.

FlyingOnceMore Sep 5, 2008 9:41 am

Happened twice to me today.

Click 'Edit'on my post, make amendment, click 'Save Changes', and it saves the changes, but also creates a new post, time stamped for when a made the change.

Password?

I had to change my PW. I've had the same one for years. It was a little frustrating but now it's OK.:)

Absolutely, IMO.

annerj Sep 5, 2008 11:31 am

My post count isn't working in OMNI :p

gomike Sep 5, 2008 11:50 am

I miss the thread start date. Bring it back!

WineCountryUA Sep 5, 2008 11:53 am

How do I find my recent posts/threads? This seems to no longer be avialable. Has it moved?

Where did you try to find them?

Just do the following:

1. Use the dropdown menu from the top: Quick Links/ My Threads or My Posts. Or

2. Click on your FT handle, under the Statistics tab, you will see "Find all posts by" & "Find all threads started by"..etc.

Quite a few fields were added in our Profile. You have to play with them in order to know what they are all about. :)

chexfan Sep 5, 2008 12:23 pm

MyFT- Subscribed Threads.

You used to be able to click on "New Subscribed Thread:" and it would bring up the entire list of your Subscribed Threads. That link doesn't exist currently.

There is a "Subscribed Threads" option in the Quick Links menu, under Misc. Is that the link to which you are referring?

Kiwi Flyer Sep 5, 2008 12:45 pm

On MyFT page I see several very old PMs that are marked as unread. I've definitely read them.

Does the MyFT page now limit how many unread PMs that are displayed? Each time I go back to MyFT page after having read one of the "unread" PMs I get some more very old PMs show up.

Thanks for the alternative appraoch. I had always just click on my userID and it took me to a page that had a link section similiar to what is in "quick links" -- this now seems to be one layer deeper under "All Statisitics"

Nope, on MyFT in the section that lists your Subscribed Threads that have had activity since your last login...

The title, "New Subscribed Threads: (#)" was a link that would bring up the entire list of you subscribed threads, not just the new ones.

Kiwi, as far as I know no settings have been changed related to the display of PMs. That sounds like it might be a cookie issue. You might try clearing your FT cookies following the instructions in this thread.

To view all, either click 'List Subscriptions' in the Control Panel to the left, or at the bottom of the new threads, there's a 'List all Subscribed Threads' in the blue bar.

I learn something new everyday ^

I was not aware that the title of that section was also a link, however, if you expand the New Subscribed Threads section you will find a link to the lower right labeled "View all Subscribed Threads" that also brings up your entire list of subscribed threads.

PM's - missing "reply to all"

When more than one person was cc'd on a PM to me, there is no "reply to all" unless the PM came from a moderator...

I believe they have been set up to only show on your profile.

Correct.

jason8612, your avatar will show here as well as in any Friends list you may be on plus in any Visitor Messages you might send.

They won't show under your handle for the foreseeable future.

jason8612 Sep 6, 2008 10:18 am

Oh,ok.

yosithezet Sep 6, 2008 11:54 am

I can't for the life of me figure out where to upload my avatar pic. Is this also only for premium subscribers?

I wasn't aware that it was. It's an option under My Flyertalk - one of the options on the left-hand side is 'edit avatar'

There is also an "Edit Profile Picture". Thanks, I was looking on my profile page, not My FlyerTalk.

Kiwi Flyer Sep 6, 2008 4:08 pm

I can't find the option to send someone an email message. Send a message link in the profile now has PM and public message only.

I can see it in your Profile Page. Can you see it in mine? Maybe the person you are checking has email messages turned off?

You should be able to send email:

1. Under Public Profile:
Click the Contact Info Tab (3 options: Post a visitor message; send a private message; send a message via email)

Or,

2. Left click one's FT handle:
"Send email to" is one of the 5 options you'll see.

Are you seeing things differently?

Kiwi Flyer Sep 6, 2008 9:41 pm

Thanks. It seems the person I was trying to send an email to had turned that option off.

I don't think it is a cookie issue - I've been logging into FT from different cities each of the last few times.

The "FT Merchandise" link under "Extras" takes you to the cafe press "FT Merchandise Annex". People are having trouble finding the FT Luggage Tags since you now have to go into the annex and click "store" to find the link to the Original FT Store which sells the ever-popular FT Luggage Tags.
