unable to post in discontinued programs forums?

I tried posting something in the TWA forum today and was unable. I figured it might have something to do with an account limitation so I inquired with a moderator. He gave it a go and had the same problem.. It looks as though there may be a technical issue.

Is anyone ever going to address this issue, or at least offer an explanation?

No one is allowed to post in discontinued forums, IIRC. The ability was removed a few years ago.

And this thread addresses some of that "posting privileges" in discontinued fora. Sometimes "search" is your friend to find some possible answers in a faster manner. ;)

That would be a good explanation except that it looks like there have been posts in those forums this year... :)

Good catch. Turns out the settings weren't quite right and were allowing postings from WAP devices.

All should be corrected now and once again, posting in all of the discontinued forums has been turned off. As always, please correct me if I am mistaken :p

Appears that viewing the discontinued forums is now also disabled.

Thought that page looked kinda short :D

Actually the whole section is gone (at least for me).

It totally disappears! Is that the way it's supposed to be? ;)

Is there any particular reason why posting needs to be disabled? I understand that the programs are history, but what is wrong with letting people still have discussions regarding them?

It just seems like it's done for the sake of doing it, and for no good reason really..

Otherwise, seriously what is the point of them even being there? Are they to be treated like a museum exhibit, a forum frozen in time?

These forums used to be open for posting, but unfortunately we discovered some were using them to post pad, as the forums weren't moderated and were therefore rarely checked. Therefore, it was decided to close them to new posts, but leave them open for viewing for anyone who was interested.
