Not able to post a reply on my own thread
Any idea why I'm not able to post a reply to my own thread?? I tried it both at home and at work and it's a no go.

I found the thread you started, and can see why you are frustrated. It looks as though you attempted to post 10 times. Let me attempt to explain what happened.
FlyerTalk sends posts with active links from new posters to a mod queue. I would guess that half of the posts that go to the mod queue are spam, and are deleted with members never seeing them. The other half are legitimate posts, such as yours. We mods attempt to quickly approve these. When you start a thread with an active link, the software responds with a message explaining this to you. But when you respond to an existing thread, the software lacks the capability to give you a popup message telling you the post went to the approval queue. You posted in Travel Products. The forum moderator is extremely good, and very quick to check his mod queue, but he is traveling this week. I've now gone in and approved some of the posts, deleting others which were your multiple attempts to post. I can only imagine how very frustrating this was for you, and apologize that we are a bit crippled in this regard. Mods have asked if we can have a plug in advising new members what is happening. We've also asked that we get an immediate email so that we know a post is in our approval queue. I fear that both items are quite far down the work list. SanDiego1K Senior Moderator |
Afterglow,
My sincerest apologies that you were not able to reply to your own thread. My vacation plans got in the way of your posting privileges... so sorry. Hopefully, SanDiego1K took care of your problem in a timely fashion. William |
