Format of Page Suggestion

Dear Tech Team,

I was wondering if a "tweak" to the forum view page is possible.

Is it possible to reduce the width of the "Forum" description column and increase the width of the "Last Post" column where the last thread is shown?

The threads get cut off often.... but look like the Forum column could be reduced without any loss of information.

Just wondering.

Figured this would give you a break from the search fiasco.... :D

I like it. ^

Without knowing your screen size and resolution, and this might be Firefox specific, but I find the poster column is variable width depending on the longest user name in the last poster column. If Klm is Dead - Long Live KLM was the last poster that column ends up twice as wide as normal width, so perhaps if they make that column have a maximum width would solve this problem.

Personally, I don't ever have this problem using my laptop with a 19" widescreen display at 1440 x 900.

I do not have that problem... and I use a 24" monitor... my columns are fixed... have not see the problem you refer to on the Forum summary page... I see what you describe when I have an actual thread opened.

Here's what I see when user name is too long for normal width, using Firefox. The "Thread / Thread Starter" column is made narrower and the last post column is made wider.

Ed1,

You and I are on different pages..... my suggestion is on the Forum List page... not the Thread page.... :)

I take it you're talking about the main FT Forum Index page: FlyerTalk Forums or the Community Main Forum index. If that's the case, I agree the "Last Post" column could be balanced so that the descriptions in the "Forum" column could be wrapped to extra line(s) and narrowed so that the full (or at least the majority) thread title would fit. It could be variable using the longest thread title (like the "Last Post" column in my examples) or a fixed wider width set at the longest allowable title.
