How do you change visible username?
 

I've gone through MyFlyerTalk, FAQs but haven't found how to relabel my public username. Can you help?

There is no way for a user to change it on their own.

You can send a message to Mikel at Flyertalk to state your reason for wanting to change it... they may make an exception.

I suppose one could always sign up under new name, but then one would lose old history and start over. Presumably that should not be a big issue if one is looking for a new identity anyway.

And that would be against the TOS and would normally result in the duplicate being deleted without notice.

Seeing this was your first and only post (apparently) in about 3 years why on earth does it matter????????

Start off at post #1 as Doctor Phil or Caped Crusader or whatever you now really wish you'd chosen.

Can I change my FlyerTalk handle?

The short answer is NO. In general the handle you registered with is the one you are known by during your time in this Community. However, if for instance you started two years back as FargoFlyer and are now based in Tampa, we will allow you as a ONE TIME courtesy to re-register your handle. Once you have registered under that new name, you must email a FlyerTalk admin to cancel the duplicate handle. Failure to do so is a violation of the Flyertalk Terms of Service as each member may only have one handle. Be warned your post count then re-starts at zero, and your "join date" will reflect the date of the new handle. And this is a strictly ONE TIME offer to members, so please think carefully before asking!
