Problem with Monster.ca Ad

Is anyone else getting as frustrated as I am over this Monster.Ca ad
that pops up on random links in FT? It takes forever to load ( and yes, I am
on a high speed connection), and the button to " skip ad" is the last part
of the page to load.

Move to FireFox as a brower and use the AdBlockPlus plug-in ... I have not seen an ad here in over a year.

Enjoy our free site! :)

I think it is just Monstrous. ;)

(and a bit irritating, but welcome to the new reality of maximizing revenue from the Internet as "our site goes commercial.)

Unless people are prepared to pay for the premium ad-free version, the site and the web generally will become like television and radio: "Free Media"!

I do find it annoying, however at least the site is free. If we were paying to use FT, I would have a major issue with it.

Ad rage...

I agree that the new Monster.ca pop-up sucks...loaded the firefox browser, and that fixed that, but I still get the bar ads along the top and side (AMEX ads). Are those impossible to get rid of, or is my new browser configured incorrectly?
Thanks in advance.

Clicking the refresh button on the browser will also abort the loading of the ad. Not as good as blocking it altogether, but another option.

I love having dual monitors and tabbed browsing.^

Going to move this to the Tech Issues forum. The IB admins should be able to help with this troublesome ad.

Thanks

Not only do you need ....... Plus but the ....... Filterset.G Updater to have a ready-made set of filters added in. bear in mind it may make displaying some icons/link/s/buttons impossible.

You can also use NoScript (stops unwanted JavaScript from running)

I've asked our tech team to block this.

Indeed and thanks for the tip. ^

Thanks!

(But presumably Monster paid for the right to do this).
