It seems to accept it (will even stop me from clicking twice in 5 minutes), but my message never seems to appear.

Interesting... It would not take my full post, but if I put it into notepad, and cut and paste the same post, bit by bit, it eventually took the whole thing.

Is there a limit on how many lines (or characters) a post can have, when being submitted? (Although not taking effect when doing an edit & save)

What forum were you trying to post in. Some do not premit posts from new FTers.

I suspect the spam filters caught your post. The forum moderators can see posts caught by the filters and release as appropriate.
