Moving PMs to my email (yahoo)
 

I would like to move my PMs to my email system. Is this possible? I searched and fond info on moving PM to another folder that you create on this board dated Jan 05, 07 where OP was UA Fan. My question is different...help please and remember, I am just a novice at this sort of thing.

There is not an automated way to import PMs into an email account that I know of. The one way it could be done manually would be to download your messages as a text document, the link is at the bottom of the private messages page, and then send each of the messages from that document to yourself, but like I said this would be a long process.

You could also store the text version of the PMs on your computer and reference them in the file as well.

Thanks for your prompt attention. I was concerned that your answer would be similiar to what you said. Soooooo could you please give me some additional direction on placing the PMs in a folder that I create on my computer. That is, if I generate a special new folder on the computer, how do I get the items tranfered to that folder?

All of the formats that are available for download are in a single file format, so if you go to your PMs page and scroll to the bottom you will see a list of the three formats. Click on the link for the format you want and the file should be saved to your default download location no your PC, I would suggest the text format for you and then you can open it in Word or any text editor/word processing app.

The other two formats are more technical, and I unfortunately don't know of a reader than can read messages in that format easily, if you find one please let us know (this question has been asked a few other times, looking for a reader for the xml format.)
