Lost posts

It looks like this mornings down time resulted in some lost posts. Earlier today, I know there were more posts in http://flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=666006 than are showing up now. At the very least, the OP had responded to a question, and that response is now missing.

Maybe related (or maybe not), I also noticed that http://flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=666129 has one (1) response, but the main United forum page shows zero (0).

Bizzare post

This post http://flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?p=7319875 contains text I did not post! Looks like ended up with someone else's content replacing what I typed (who knows where that ended up).

Odd - when I edit I see the original text, but view shows something completely different.

Edited to add. Refresh doesn't seem to make any difference. But if I edit a post it reverts to what I typed, and seems to stay that way.

Technical support people... WAKE UP!!!

Odd Posts

I attempted to make a new thread on OMNI and what I wrote is not at all what got posted. Not even close to it. How can I delete what was posted (and what I did NOT at all write, even though the post appears under my user name)?

** HUGE PROBLEM** Random replies

I also noticed this really bad behavior since the forums came back up. When I post, the text that gets put in is some text from a random previous post. I have to edit in order to get the right post. I also see this is happening for other posters as well - all the posts appear to be non-sequitur, though if you quote one, you get the right text.

Dieuwer Mar 1, 2007 11:34 am

The post above randomly replaced my original post when I hit the "submit reply" button. I had to edit my post and save again to get the original text: "Technical support people... WAKE UP!!!"

Something weird going on.

mahasamatman Mar 1, 2007 11:36 am

Editing a post works, as does quoting it.

(Note: this one actually worked the first time.)

The same thing happened to me also.

When I typed the reply, and hit submit, another post appeared, with different words and to a different thread - but with my handle! When I hit the edit button, it pulled up the reply I made. When I hit the save button, it posted correctly (my reply to the correct thread)!

the issues with flyertalk this morning have created some overlap on certain threads. If you notice any of these please pm tim at webflyer, joshua at webflyer, or the forum moderator who can simply edit the post and press save(the original posts have not been effected).

Or feel free to link to the thread and list the post number here as well.

Posts 5, 6, and 7, although I think they improve the thread.

A question I had: how will you know in the BA forum if a post is bizarre because of the technical problem, or just because it's in the BA forum?

I just noticed that this post #26 in this thread: http://flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=665667

is from someone else, not me.

Kagehitokiri Mar 1, 2007 5:11 pm

is the problem "_Manta_" 's name?

for example, quoting someone with a name like that on invision powerboard causes horrible forum errors. (exactly like those described, as well as others)

missydarlin Mar 1, 2007 7:19 pm

If I try to quote that post, then what I actually DID write appears

These two are fixed.

I'm pretty certain that the problem was not caused by any particular users name. Thanks,
