please help a computer moron maintain a nice resource thread!!
Please help.
While I'm not a FT newbie, I 'd like to know how to create a nice " resource" thread compiling link to threads that others have posted. HOW DO I DO THIS. I'd like mine to look like this:http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showp...80&postcount=1 This guy with twice my brains has "Here" and "MBNA SMALL BUSINESS CARD" on the hyperlinks in lieh of the unsightly codes themselves. How do I do this this?? Instead mine looks like this http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showp...46&postcount=5 how do i get it to look "nice". I like to make it more 'readable'or ease of reference for my fellow FT'er's thanks Thanks! |
When composing there is a two tier toolbar directly above the text box. On the lower tier there are familiar icons for Bold Italic Underlined, followed by a variety of paragraph alignment tools. Next, is the one you want. Point to the Globe icon and the tooltip "Insert Link" appears. Click the Globe and it will take you step-by-step through the process of creating a label (which appears in the message in blue) and adding the link (which will be hidden). You can save a bit of time by highlighting existing text to serve as the Label and then clicking the Globe to insert the link.
However, I notice that some new members of Flyertalk do not realize that the blue words are links, and may miss the point of the message. |

[ZZZ="http://www.flyertalk.com"]http://www.flyertalk.com[/ZZZ] The link I want is listed twice. The one within the double quotes is the true url. The 2nd one is where I can replace the text. In fact, the 2nd half is still highlighted so that I can replace with text of my own choosing. [ZZZ="http://www.flyertalk.com"]here[/ZZZ] becomes here If folks still have the "old style" link button that walks you through the process, I'd love to know how to get that back. |
