Can I send the same PM to multiple addressees?
 

I'm helping to organize a dinner at the FT Cow DO in EZE next week. I'd like to send the same PM to the 11 people coming to the dinner. Can I do that without send 11 separate PMs. Is there some way to address the PM, e.g., addresses separated by a semi-colon or something that will solve the problem?

Did you check the PM screen?

You may send up to XX messages at a time.
Separate multiple user names with ';'

I'm not sure how many users you can send to at the same time, you may have to do it in 2 batches.

Five at a time.

There is also a way to do it using the buddy list, but I forgot how to do it. :p

If I'm working on a DO or a dinner, I create the first message and send it out. Then I go to my "sent items" folder, and forward the message to the next 5 people. (I take out the "FWD" in the subject line, but that's just me.)

You open your Buddy List and check the boxes to the right of the names you want to PM. Then drop down to the bottom of the list and click on "Send Message".
But I don't think this shortcut works for those on your Ignore Poster list. ;)

I'm missing something. I made up a Buddy List of the dinner folks. Dumped out of FT to make sure everything "took". Went back in and I don't see any boxes to the right of the names.

I composed a message first to see if that made a difference, but still no boxes. I'm missing something obvious, but I can't figure it out. :confused:

Just opened my Buddy List again and, sure enough, there are small white boxes to the right of each name.
Maybe the Buddy List pop-up window isn't stretched out enough for you to see the boxes??

The Buddy List and Ignore list are the same size and there doesn't seem to be a way to widen either one. I use IE6, nothing fancy here. No problems with other programs or other areas of FT.

Maybe I can get one of the FT techies to chime in.

One last suggestion while we're awaiting a FT tech response.
Do you access the Buddy List by clicking on "Quick Links" at the top of every page and then selecting "Open Buddy List" ??
I'm thinking you may be looking at your actual, editable Buddy List under MyFlyerTalk, Settings and Options.

You hit the nail on the head. I didn't even know you could access the Buddy List from the Quick Links. But when I tried I got the list with boxes.
