Browsing FT by PDA: no Omni?

Is there a reason why I can't find Omni when using the FT forums wap site?

You should be able to see it still, one thing to make sure of is that you are logged in. If you are not logged in it will not show up.

cblaisd May 18, 2006 3:26 pm

Semi-on-topic.

When I'm logged in via WAP, I can't see the Moderators forum.

redbeard911 May 18, 2006 3:56 pm

That's odd. The OMNI threads show up when I look at "My Threads," but when I try and open them I get a blank screen,. I figured that OMNI was disabled on the WAP version.

I'll check again.

I'll try again, but last time it wasn't there.

I'm on my blackberry now. I don't see omni anywhere.

I just checked this with a non-admin account and you are right, there is a problem with this. Did some testing and it is a problem with how WiForums checks access rights for protected forums. For the OMNI problem I have reported this to WiForums and hopefully we will get an update to fix this, until then we will have to live without OMNI on the wap forums. :(

cblaisd, the problem in not seeing the moderator forums was fixable for you, it had to do with being in the Senior Mod group and you should see things as you would expect via WiForums now. Let me know if there is still a problem. Thanks,

Thanks for the info. I thought I was doing something wrong.

So do we need 180 wireless posts to access OMNI? :p

steve32 May 30, 2006 12:43 pm

I would have thought that access to OMNI would have come at the same time as access to Coupon Corner?

I still get the "you do not have permission to access this page" message.

Do I need to request an invitation?

Thanks,

Steve

OMNI has a different set of requirements for access. 180 posts, 180 days.

Is there somewhere that explains the 180 rule?

Not that I know of that explains it further than the above, no. If you have a specific question about it I will try to answer it. Thanks,

Does it mean 180 posts every 180 days or either 180 posts or have been using it 180 days or ?

You just have to have 180 or more total posts and have been a member of FT for 180 or more days, once that is reached this there is no other requirement for future posting in OMNI.

None of the above ;)

OMNI becomes visible once you have achieved at least 180 posts AND have been a member for at least 180 days.

Examples:

Member A has 180 posts but has only been a registered member for 179 days - no OMNI access :(

Member B has been a member for 180 days but only has 179 posts - no OMNI access :(

Member C has been a member for 180 days AND has 180 posts - OMNI access

Hope that helps clear things up.

It's clear except that I should qualify already. Unless you mean 180 wireless posts, not counting all of my posts I already made. I've also been a member lon g enough, unless wireless membership is different? I also post on Omni already now on my pc.

Thanks for taking the time to clear this up. :)

Please see the following, you are not the only one that can't see it now:

We hope to have this functionality fixed soon. Thanks,

A quick update on this, I have updated the Wiforums software on the site and you should all be able to access OMNI if you can normally access it via the main site now. Enjoy!

redbeard911 Jun 7, 2006 9:54 pm

It works for me. Thanks. ^

DeafFlyer Jun 8, 2006 4:45 am

Thanks! I will give it a try.
