popunders very annoying

Whenever I use this forum I get dozens of POP-UNDERS from.

http://cdn5.tribalfusion.com/media/5...006_04_12A.gif.

This is a real pain in the ....Right now I have 12 on my browser bar. Is it really necessary to annoy forum members this way?

Do you have cookies totally turned off? The site is supposed to only give you one pop-under ad per session (maybe even per day), but if you reject all cookies from the site it thinks you're a new visitor every time.

Allow cookies and I'll bet it will stop.

Or subscribe to Insideflyer which qualifies you for an ad-free Flyertalk (aka Flyertalk Premium).

I use MEDIUM SECURITY which allows normal cookies. Just signing in to Flyertalk, signing in, navigatin to this site, I now have 11 POP UNDERS. This is a real pain and a reason to never come to the site.

I have never received any pop-ups or pop-unders from this site - not even when I first registered.
Do you have a pop-up blocker? The Yahoo! Toolbar has one and it works really well. It gives you the option of what sites you DO want pop-ups or pop-unders from.

I run CLEANSWEEP and NORTON internet security. They block pop-ups. These are POPUNDERS. They hide under the browser window. As we chat, I not have 17 pop-unders. This is rediculous.

Since nobody else has this problem (if they did I am sure we'd hear about it) I can only assume there is still a problem with your PC. What URL's do these pop-unders point to? Can you mention some of the vendors/advertisers so the Flyertalk staff can pinpoint where they are coming from.

As I said; if this were a problem on the Flyertalk end of things, then more people would have these problems, so there is clearly something different on your PC that is triggering this.

Pop-unders are exactly they same as pop-ups, the only difference is they do one extra thing... they push the website you are viewing in front of the pop-up.

In Internet Explorer (IE), cookies are more to do with your privacy setting rather than security, make sure you have privacy set to medium as a maximum - if you set it any higher then IE becomes useless on a lot of websites.

Personally I would recommend switching browser to Firefox or Opera, they both have far stronger pop-up blockers than IE and you can get rid of these unnecessary external pop-up blocking systems.
